Another Good Day with Winchester 333.

The weather was in the 40s and rain, but I'd promised Miss Emma Anne G that I'd take her out to the country and do some shooting so off we went. 25 and 50 yard targets were right in the 0-ring, as always, and the rain was knocking the paper down.

Then I noticed all the shotgun hulls and sleeve-wads littering the range so we expended several hundred rounds chasing them around trying to keep shooting the same one until it was too far away to see.

The faux M68 continues to work very well in this application and there was one (1) stoppage with the Winchester 333. Less the half dozen still in the box that's three boxes down range with minimal problems. As in any .22LR firearm, YMMV.

Emma Anne G at the range after 500 rounds.

Nice! I have the same faux Aimpint on mine and love it. I have another coming with a faux Aimpoint 3X magnifier that I got off of a guy on ar15.com. Can't wait!

The Winchester 333's and 555's are the only ammo that I've tried that I actually had any FTF's with... I have discovered that some of these Winchester's have "loose" bullets.. Seems that all of my FTF's have come from those rounds that have this condition... I've not had any troubles with Federal bulk, and I've not found any of the Federals that share this "loose bullet" condition...

This may or may not be what's causing some of the FTF's, but it does seem suspect to me.

Thanks in advance.

Winchesters cheaper ammo isn't known for being great ammo... fed. Is....

Winchesters have their place don't get me wrong I've run their bulk 9mms for years threw my p92 fs inox but it won't cylce a sub gun for heck

+1 on Fed.

The 15-22 seems to function well with Fed and CCI. Winchester and Rem have sent many a 15-22 back home. Though, after rife repair they seem to do ok with other ammo.

Emma Anne G and this "not great" Winchester 333 were hitting shotgun shell hulls all afternoon with the 4MOA dot. Failure to feed rate was 0.2% (1 of 450).

Perfectly acceptable for me on all counts. All firing was done standing, unsupported, of course, that's what makes it more fun. Due to the rain I was alone at the range so I was moving back and forth behind the firing line seeking enemy shotgun hulls hiding in the grass and mud. Better than bulls-eyes any day for my money. ;)

How well this ammo does from the bench into a 2" bullseye I've no clue. Right now, though, it's MOSGS (minute of shotgun shell) with a little hold-over of the dot at the closer ranges.

I did, however, find this in the bottom of the box! Perhaps I should write to Winchester and get a replacement?
