First "big" Massachusetts gun show of the new year (and post-EA) is happening this weekend. It was very, very busy on Saturday. Vendor tables were maxed out and you could barely move around until late afternoon.
3rd Gen-wise, there were a lot of "repeats" from past shows; however, the one gun that I was most interested in... a very nice Model 909 w/extra magazine... had sold sometime between shows.
Dang!
3rd Gen gun of the show was that customized Model 1006 for $850 that we've been discussing in this thread. I thought it had sold at one point... but then I found out it was still there when I left the show mid-afternoon.
What interested me most was a very nice transitional Model 4690, supposedly unfired, which had been reduced in price from previous shows down to $600.
If I weren't so far in debt from last year's purchases, and assuming the good wife's approval, I would have bought it.
There was also a very clean Model CS45 (one magazine, no box) tagged at $600. Way too much for me even on a good day.
Same dealer had a Model 4006TSW in excellent condition for $650 tagged price... but again, too rich for me.
There were two Model 4516's (original "no dash" versions)... one of which was almost reasonably priced.
There was a repeat visit of a Model 4516-1, but it was way over-priced.
That rust spotted Model 915 from past shows was still around (at $399 tagged price)... and it was still rusty.
Another repeat visitor was an over-priced Model 457 reverse-two-tone... still way over-priced. Yet another repeat visitor was a reasonably nice Model 411 (without any rust spots!), but I have more than enough .40's for now.
Sold since one of the recent shows was the Model 3913NL originally tagged at $600.00. I was almost at a point where I was ready to see if the dealer was willing to bargain on it a little... but now I have to move it to the "sold" list.
In short, there weren't a lot of "mainstream" 3rd Gens this time around and none at any sort of bargain or even attractive prices.
More than ever, plastic seems to be "in" and 3rd Gens are in short supply and relatively high-priced. While other members of Team 3rd Gen are reporting a good number of bargains here and there, I can't report the same from here behind enemy lines in moonbat Massachusetts.
