Another internal lock (actually spring) question

Since few people like the internal lock, and there is the possible legal issues related to removing it, I was thinking that maybe replacing the spring with a stronger one would be a good solution.

So my questions are:

1. Would a stronger spring be more likely to prevent unintentional lock up?
2. Is there a stronger spring available?
3. If so, where?

Yes a better spring would help but all the parts are unique to S&W and to make things worse, they won't give us the parts to service them.

It seems to be that someone like Wolff Springs would jump on this. There are a lot of lock style guns out there and to change the spring out would be fairly simple.
