I also read about this shooting, with a great amount of disappointment and frustration.
When we older members were being raised we spent most of our time outside with friends and neighbors engaged in activities in which there were two or more people involved. We learned to deal with disagreements and differences of opinion including conflict resolution. We have utilized this knowledge and skills for our entire adult lives.
For the past 20-30 years it's been all about video games and hibernating in a room all by themselves. Young people have not acquired, developed, or mastered any of these important skills that we have. Far too many parents have concurrently abandoned their responsibilities for teaching and nurturing their children, from their birth and throughout their children's entire lives.
In today's world if there is a disagreement between people, no matter how trite, they start shooting or stabbing those with whom they have a disagreement.
Unfortunately, both Jacksonville and Atlanta are becoming just like Chicago, or worse. The media also may not be reporting the entire story, especially if there are mental health issues.
A better outcome would have evolved IF the shooter had committed suicide FIRST, before he started shooting at others!
