Wasn't remotely looking for one but when I saw it, I had to bring it home.
Other than a light cylinder ring, it doesn't have a mark on it.

Ooohh! You got a 4" no dash? Lucky!
I'm trying not to hate you.

That's the one gun on my wish list. I have an early 6" no-dash, but I REALLY want a 4". So far I've had no luck in my search.

C'mon! Don't hold out on us! Partial S/N or date?

Per S&W, 1985.

Congrats! Great gun. The only thing I could think doing with mine was to change the grips. These are Ahrends Retro Combats. Shoots great no matter what grips you use.

It would have been criminal, criminal I tell ya, to leave that 586 there in that LGS as an orphan. Great gun, best 357 ever made IMHO.

Congrats on your 586 L-Frame 4" no dash.
I bought mine new in 1981 with a starting prefix of "AAAxxxx" on my
586 L-Frame 4" no dash. My 6" starts with "ACHxxxx".
I still have the original wood stocks but prefer shooting with Pachmayr
Professional Grippers.

Where did you find that one at? Every time I stop off at a gun shop they have nothing but tactical plastic in stock or Taurus or lock guns.

I would have brought that one home too....

I picked one up, It was advertised in the classifieds on this site. 4"
Has some bluing wear on the muzzle, i'm sure from being carried, but other than that it hasn't been shot much at all by the looks of the recoil face, cylinder. I have not shot it yet. Need to do that. Grips were marked 1983 inside . Wasn't in the market for one, it just popped up and I jumped on it. I have 2 625's 45acp, and a 610. Like them a lot. The 610 is a sweet shooting revolver. Sounds like the 586 should be the same.

Congrats! I put about 150 rounds through my 586 yesterday...its among the nicest revolvers ive shot.

That's is definately a beautiful pistol, congratulations. That will certainly be my next addition to the stable. There is a large show at the end of the month and I'm feeling lucky.

Same thing happend to me...

...about a month ago as to the OP. My 6" 586 no-dash might even be my best-shooting revolver--even better than my Pythons and 686-4.

I fell into a 586 no dash several years ago. I really did not think I would care for it nearly as much as my M-19's, that lasted until the first time I shot it. My 586 has replaced my M-19 as one of my ready guns. I guess you can't give any higher praise than that.
