Another New Guy/Shooter here

I really hope you're right. I recently started researching blogs and forums with people saying this shortage would ease up soon, but that was 2 years ago. If manufacturing is at full capacity, there's either just so many more people shooting with 22 now and or some are still hoarding like crazy.

22lr is not hard to find unless you are waiting for it to be less than $0.06 per round. This is not a shortage, it's what the market will bear. I placed two orders for ammo last week... One at $.10 per round shipped (standard velocity, harder to find at reasonable prices) and one at less than $0.06 per round shipped. All told, that's 3100 rounds of 22lr.

Yea I think it's mostly people hoarding ammo. I was at wlamart last night and asked when their deliveries were.. The guy immediately knew I was looking for .22 rounds! Hahaha. He said to get there crazy early as it sells out within 5mins!

The problem is that it's so cheap, people are just buying it for the sake of it now, rather than an actual need. Also I'm pretty sure people are reselling it at stores or gun shows at a higher premium and that why walmart sells out so quick!

I can't see anyway out of the current demand though, unless the makers flood the market to the point where people will stop impulse buying everything they see!
