City of Euless Texas lost an officer today. No details posted by the media. Shooter is also sig. 18. Be sure we send up a word for this officer and all others.

The NBC affiliate here said there was a shootout near a school. One officer dead, the perp also dead. Cause not stated.

Showed some video from a cell phone, but either the guy didn't get much or they edited it a lot.

No names were being released when I last heard. They should have more by the ten PM news.

Officer David Hoffer, aged 29. Had done five years on NYPD before moving to Texas.

God rest his soul and comfort his fiancée and others whom he leaves behind.

Neighbors report a gunfight of about 20 minutes. Cause still not known.

Many residents are paying their respects at the hospital. Much media coverage.

Transferred from Patrol to Crime Scene investigation two years ago and made my wife very happy.

Officer David Hoffer and his fiancée Marta moved into my neighborhood two months ago and I am beating myself up for not ever introducing myself. Today I walked over and talked to the officers on watch and offered if I could bring in lunch or dinner for everyone. They stated that they did not need anything at this time, but did appreciate the offer. After the commotion dies down a bit, I will make it a point to go meet with Marta and offer up any assistance that she might need. Prayers sent.

I think the OP is trying to say that the person who shot the officer was also shot...although I don't understand why he didn't just say that. Maybe it's cool to use police radio codes, I don't know.
