I picked up a Smith and Wesson model 27-2 / 8 3/8" barrel with wood case
The blue insert is in rough shape ( cracks , ect...) Is there a way to get a new insert..let me take a poll, if I was to make a nice velvet insert to replace the blue fuzzy plastic in my Smith and Wesson model 27-2 presentation box do you think it would lower the value..( if you were going to buy the gun and the wood or was very nice inside would you pay a little more?, less because it wasn't the original plastic fuzzy insert?, or it wouldn't matter to you either way?
Please let me know
Thank you
I just think it would be a fun rainy day project and would look really nice.

Consider contacting Member "jcelect" (Joe Cebull) - he is expert in case restoration and does it for very reasonable price.
If you alter orginal appearance or style, yes - it will devalue case.
