Another Whack With The "Mortality" Stick...

How often do you get your INR checked?

My late hubby was on it for a number of years, his Dr. wanted it checked every 3-4 weeks and adjust the dosage as needed.

I have a unit, similar to a glucose monitor, that I check my INR with every ten days. It has helped me keep an eye on dosage, as I enter the result on a site provided by Roche, the Makers of the INR meter. They notify my doctor of any changes needed & he calls me with a new dosage.

Glad you were able to get it under control! Sounds serious. Just watch bumps, bruises and any nicks.

Be safe!

What you described sounded like an arterial bleed. Did you cut yourself on the frame of the bed? A venous bleed is much different. Was the blood bright red or dark? I believe I would be sleeping, or trying to sleep, with that leg elevated for a while.

A friend of mine took thinners for years.Whenever he nicked himself shaving he would holler-Mary,I'm gonna bleed out! [emoji33]
I miss hunting and fishing with that goof !
