Another "what if" thread...

That's an impossible choice for me. Would have to have at least three. I use 9mm JHP in a model 59 for PP, would have to have a .22 for small game and love my .30-06 for deer.

As an advantage, I also have a Bear compound bow so that probably is not affected by the law. :D

9mm cause I have plenty of choices and a carbine.

The other choice is hard but I'd guess at 22 cause the above can take care of anything I'd need it for and the 22 just for the fun.

Warning: The following post contains questionable humor

For all those people that hate the idea of a law being passed to this effect, we could hypothesize that magic was involved. It's (hopefully) not any more ludicrous.

Let's say that a magic genie (is there any other kind?) granted you amazing shooting abilities. As good as Bob Munden and Jerry Miculek combined, but only with two calibers. Anything else and you can't hit the broadside of Manhattan. There now. Is that better? (Hopefully it's just as unlikely as the law being passed)

Well said. Thank you for understanding the spirit of the post.

WOW it took me several minutes to stop shaking at such a HORRIFIC scenario :D but once I came to my senses and realized this was hypothetical, I gave it some thought and decided it would probably be the 9mm and 5.56 as well.

Cheers!

Well, it's kinda like the Affordable Health Care Act. I'm not really sure what's in the bill. We passed it, now we'll figure it out.

Unless your wife lives in a different house, you can only have two! See, I'm making it up as I go along...

I thought you said if I liked my caliber, I could keep my caliber!

I'm keeping them all because it's silly to think otherwise. Also, it's my right to do so that's guaranteed by the 2A.

Yes, and you can have all the arms you wish to bear. Just no ammo.
Sorry, this logic doesn't wash. The ammo is an integral part of the gun and therefore, protected under the second amendment as well. This has almost been tested in CA courts. The bill was pulled when they learned that the courts were going to rule as I stated above.

Pete, your time in office was short. You have been recalled to home, voted out of office. And the tar will be low temp to reduce burns. I'm thinking fiberglass insulation instead of feathers.

I grew up in the Ozarks, I did not, but many there could eat year round with the 22 LR rifle and a flashlight.

I know this is in jest, but a big BUT, failure of some to pull an Australia on guns is not working and the latest attempt in CA is ammo. No pretend there that is scary.

I have enough deer rounds to last me and family a life time of hunting. I also have a bunch of shotguns with ammo and some black powder and balls to dissuade bumps in the night. I love Walnut and blued steel, but having a few black rifles gives one the warm fuzzies on thoughts or posts like this.

I could do with my black powder rifle and shotgun if it came down to it.
My black powder rifle is a REM M-700-ML. It is scoped, yep not traditional. I have owned some nice Hawkins but changed my thinking.

The 700 ML is scoped, i took it out of the elcheapo plastic stock and In letted it into a Weatherby MV short action wood stock. I used a broken WBY stock I had and fit it into the magazine opening.

3 pieces of Jim Shockey's gold BP will kill deer at 200 yards using sabot 45 cal bullets. I have shot mine at 200, but have not killed a deer that far.

My Bro parked his Hawken, my old one, and uses a scoped inline, he has killed several at 200 yards. Black powder and the guns using it have grown up. There is also a rumor that one can make BP at home. Mine also uses the shotgun primer for ignition and lift off.

I call your pretend and raise you 2 bags of reality.

If the world changes some you'll need as metal detector to find some folks canned food gathering stuff. Or even food.

No personal offense Pete, I'm gonna pretend this was a small steven king dream and move on.

I'd pick .45ACP and .30'06 because my M1911A1 and M3A1 use one caliber and my M1D and BAR use the other caliber.
