A couple of nights ago, I watched a 1941 B&W movie on TMC starring Jimmy Stewart. In one scene, he pulled a can of beer out of the refrigerator (maybe it was an icebox) and opened and drank it. The strange thing was that the can looked EXACTLY like a current aluminum beer or soda pop can with a concave bottom and a slight taper toward the top lid. The only difference I could see was that he opened it with a churchkey instead of a pull tab. The can could be seen in very good detail from several angles, and I ran the DVR back and forth several times to make sure of what I saw. I have seen lots of old beer cans, but none looked like that one - more like a can of pork & beans. Did they have such cans in 1941?
