Any breakfast cereal fans here?

Promise not to laugh! Capt'n Crunch. Before that it was fruit loops. But I always go back to my all time favorite.....Kellog's Sugar Frosted Flakes and Tony the Tiger.

I know, I know....

I used to eat Captain Crunch dry--I like the version with the "berries." I grew up on the flakes too.

Honey Nut Cheerios, or usually the Kroger clone, with a little plain (unsweetened) soymilk. But that's an evening snack, not breakfast. If I eat cereal for breakfast it's oatmeal or Cream of Rice. Hot Ralston if I can find it, but haven't found it for a long time.

I use All Bran to make cranberry-orange bran muffins.

I used to be cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs as a wee lad. Trix was high on the list too, as was Fruit Loops.

Now? Oatmeal every day.

Boy that takes me back decades. I also used to like some cereal that I think was called: Monster Cereal?? That stuff never stayed on the store shelf or in a box long.

I'm a granola or great grains girl. I like the cereals from the bulk bins at the gourmet hippie stores the best. There's a cherry almost granola I like a lot and one with flax and hemp seeds.

Hey, if my grandmother had her way I'd still be eating Farina. When I was a kid Cream of Wheat or Farina would be the cereal du juor at grandma's, and I was at grandma's alot!

Cream of Wheat is another favorite of mine. I picked up a box of it a month ago and forgot I had some.

I absolutely LOVE Grape Nuts! I used to be able to find it with raisins already in it...haven't seen that for a long time. I tried putting some in it from a box of raisins from the store, but they don't taste the same. I also like half-and-half on my Grape Nuts, rather than milk...that and some real sugar. I can hear my arteries slamming shut with every spoon! :p

In the winter, I like oatmeal, but if it's really cold, I prefer Malt O' Meal. I like to put butter in them rather than milk, and of course sugar. Mmmm! :)

I do the same with rice as well. Butter and some sugar.

I've had just about every kind of cereal at one time or another, but my all time favorite is Frosted Mini-Wheats. I have a bowl almost every day... but rarely for breakfast.

Chex. Anybody remember 'Quisp' cereal? And it's cousin, "Quake"?

I remember them. They were both very similar to Cap'n Crunch, which is my favorite cold cereal of all time. My other favorites were Trix, Froot Loops, and Sugar Fosted Flakes.

Nowadays, I only eat steel cut oats, with Coffee Mate instead of milk.

It surprises me that so many people like Grape Nuts, or Grape Nuts mixed with Cheerios, but I dunno why it should. I like 'em too. Sometimes I'll eat Grape Nuts with yogurt instead of milk.

Another one I used to eat a lot is Kashi GoLean Crunch. But talk about keeping the trains running on time, with musical accompaniment. I lost 20 lbs. one summer eating that stuff for breakfast every day. It's really tasty, too. Another one that's good with yogurt. But my wife won't have it in the house; says I'm too hard to be around.

Grape Nuts and Wheat Checks. I remember when they used to call Wheat Checks Shredded Ralston; that was when they had a hot cereal called Ralston. Tom Mix hawked it. I liked it, but I'm pretty sure it's gone now.

"Take a tip from Tom, go and tell your mom,
Shredded Ralston can't be beat". Anyone remember that one?

Grape Nuts, Honey Nut Cherrioes, Rasin Bran, Wheaties, Oatmeal...any time, anywhere. I use Whole Milk, Half Milk, Honey or Sugar...I ain't biased. I also will add peaches, apples, blackberries, raisins, bananas when I have them. Two bowls of any of the above and I'm good to go..literally.
