Any end-of-year gun purchases you couldn't say no to?

I was out of the country the week before Christmas which is when I usually commit a smash and grab on some weird pistol or milsurp rifle at a "stop thief" price. There is a polymer pistol I want that I can only get in Texas that I may order in a few weeks.

Happy New Year everyone. Two days ago I picked up a nice Smith & Wesson Model 59 that is nickel plated . It's serial number A3980XX and if someone can tell me what year it is I would appreciate it .

I had a bunch of Cabelas gift cards and stopped by my local store last weekend to see if there was anything that interested me.

Wow, a single stack 45 for $250 with 2 mags and the original box?? I already have a Glock 36 but why not right. Enter the Kahr CW45.

Took it out today and probably 20 of
50 rounds failure to feed/go into battery. Blazer, WWB, PMC 185 JHP. Gun seemed to have no rounds through it, like new, but it has issues. Kahr says there is a “200 round break in”. My 4516, 4513, G36, Recon 45 all are just fine right out of the box. This one may not be welcomed into the family at this rate.

Will try and get through a couple more boxes of ammo and see if things clear up reliability wise, if not I’ll just disclose it’s shortcomings and eat my loss whatever it may be…. shame because when the gun functions it’s very accurate and I love the DAO trigger. Does anyone else have one of these?

I have one that I bought around 10 years ago. It had a few jams at first, but not like what you describe. It's very reliable now. It's my truck gun. Hoping I never need it.

Yep, the new Kahr effect. ;) When brand new they need a bunch of lube and a few rounds before they settle down. My CW9 came from CDNN, so it's possible somebody else had the pleasure of breaking it in. You might want to research mag problems. I changed the followers on my CW9 for some aftermarket items. I cannot recall the brand, might have been Galloway.

Produced in 1977 but the ship date is always a question only a letter of authenticity can answer.

Not an end of year purchase but I bought a Dan Wesson stainless steel, bobtailed, commander in 45 ACP.

Picked up a Bergara BMR Carbon 22lr, CVA Cascade 450BM and got a used but very nice Sig P220DAK at nearly half for what they going. Was on the hunt for a Sig P220 DAO 10mm but came up empty so will get one fist chance I come across one.

Mid December purchase was a Ruger LW Commander-style in 9mm. Price was right from a friend who has also sold me a couple of Colt Commanders in .38 Super The 9mm has become my EDC.

Within the last week I bought the model 16 that I had posted here on consignment from another forum member, and I found a 1905 32/20 HE Target which I have been looking for about 35 years that I could actually afford. I've seen the 32/20 HE Targets go for over two K and this one was up for bids on Gun Broker. I put in a bid for the most I was going to pay, which was $2,100, and then I turned off the computer and went to bed. Next day I was surprised that I got it for $1520.
I just got done sighting it in out back.

Bought a 4” 53 jet, box, extra .22 cylinder and inserts in near new shape. Probably have it at the end of next week. I’ve watched it on GB for months. It will complete my collection of Jets, 6” & 8” in the same condition.

Just did an “I’ll take it” for a Winchester 94 in 17 HMR from a member here. It goes with my .22 and .22 mag versions.
