Any Good Quotes on Stupidity?

Someone just gave me a dvd. Anyone know what Ghandi is about?

Idiot, n. A member of a large and powerful tribe whose influence in human affairs has always been dominant and controlling. The idiot's activity is not confined to any special field of thought or action, but "pervades and regulates the whole." He has the last word in everything: his decision is unappealable. He sets the fashions of opinion and taste, dictates the limitations of speech and circumscribes conduct with a dead-line.

Ambrose Bierce, The Devil's Dictionary

"If being stupid were a misdemeanor, half of the people in the country would have criminal records" -- In a creative moment, this was my spur of the moment argument defending two young men who were actually guilty of being stupid more then they were of criminal mischief -- they were convicted but the judge gave them probation and a chance to wipe their record clean if they stayed out of trouble for a year (which they did).

I don't mind you calling me stupid if you explain to me why I Am. I might learn something

If one is truly stupid then he or she won't understand the explanation. But if you simply don't know, that's a different story.

We have the tools to fix ignorance, but stupid is hopeless.

Everyone has the right to be stupid, but some are abusing the privilege.

Mom had two children, Dick and Carol, both were born dumb, but neither were born stupid!

Stupid seems to be a learned process.

My favorite was a comedian explaining that southern women were too polite to call someone stupid so they would just say "Bless his heart" as in "Billy Ray wrecked his truck again - Bless his heart".

"did your parents have any kids that lived?"

i enjoy watching the wheels turning after that one...and it gets better if they answer by naming a sibling or 2.....but not themselves.

I've taught y'all everthing I know, an' you're still stupid!

TWO of him wouldn't make a good idiot.

"Son, you can learn something from every man you meet, even a fool." My Dad.

Now that I think about it, I am not sure if he was telling me to learn from others mistakes or commenting on my level of intelligence.

Here's one for useless instead of stupid:

I'd like to buy him for what he's worth and sell him for what he thinks he's worth.

back in the 50's we had heard the japanese proverb "there is no medicine for stupidity...." and it went on about a fool like a pair of scissors, and such....never heard the entire thing..........
sounded like "baka ni tsukeru kasuri nashi..." ( sic)
Anyone speak Japanese ????

Yep. 馬鹿につける薬なし。"There is no medicine one can apply to a fool."

One of my favorite quotes, but not quite about stupidity:

"Everyone is ignorant, just on different subjects."

Mark Twain

On stupidity:

"Remember children, there are no stupid questions, just stupid people."

Mr. Garrison on South Park

I believe a stupid person lives by the motto "Ignorance is Bliss" because they are awfully happy about being stupid.

And a classic " That boy is so stupid you could pack all of his brains into a gnats rectum and they would rattle around like a BB in a boxcar!"

"Think of the stupidest, most worthless son-of-a____ that you ever thought you'd meet. And then you know how eventually some guy will come along that makes him look smart?
He's that guy."
