Any Sigma owners like it just the way it is?

Trigger is fine by me. The ladies can't tell the difference (especially when there is nothing to reference).

The trigger is hard, but it is not too hard, and it is only hard relative to other similar firearms. The fact that a tiny girl can shoot it all day long makes me question all of the pros on the internet saying that "the trigger was hard so I had to give it up."

I'm normally a revolver guy, but I bought a 9ve last week just for somethin' different. The trigger is l-o-n-g! But I don't think it pulls that hard. I only have about 50 rds through it so far.

I like it & would recommend it to anyone looking for a 9 mil.

My first .40 was a Sigma 40. I had the stainless model but hated the trigger, on it. This was back in the late 90's. I had some work done on it but never could get it just right. I was able to trade it for an AR back then. I did have to add a little out of pocket but that was fine. I do miss having a sigma now. I'm going to soon have to pull the trigger and pick up an nice stainless model if they make them.

I've had my SW40VE going on three years. I keep thinking about taking out a spring to lighten it up but then I take it out and shoot it and I think it's fine. Especially if I've taken my Security-Six along also.

Mine has been flawless overall. It's been a great gun for the money.

All the Best,
D. White

I purchased a sw40ve sunday. I have only dry fired it, can't seem to find that gritty feeling, it is a bit heavy but it is also smooth. serial#DSPxxxx

Very likable.

Other than adding a Hogue slip-on grip, I haven't changed my 9VE. Tried a light on the rail but didn't care for it. Once I got used to the trigger, it's now a pleasure to shoot. Some like the Sigma, some don't - an acquired taste I believe.

Now would be a very good time to pick up that stainless 40: under $300 PLUS a $50 Rebate-- hard gun to beat for $250 . . .

Smith & Wesson SW40VE Sigma .40 Pistol Black/Stainless [220023] - $299.99 : Larrys Pistol and Pawn, Best Pricing around!

I bought a new S&W there a few weeks ago; the "free" shipping cost me $3.00-- and NO extra for a credit card.

I've had my 40VE for about 2 years and qualified with it twice on a police course for my HR 218 permit. IMO its not a target pistol but fine for self/home defense. A little heavy for CC, I like my Glock 27 better for that. After about 200 rounds, it never failed to fire/feed. Its very reliable and for the price (I paid $319), its a pretty good deal.

I love mine. The trigger pull is a bit heavy but it is smooth. I figure that if I am man enough to carry it, I should be man enough to pull the trigger. It is what it was designed to be and that is not a competition firearm but it is designed to be a defensive firearm and it is designed to be carried with a round in the chamber ready to fire the same way a revolver is designed to be carried. i would buy another in a heart beat. A heck of a bargain at the price.

I couldn't have said it better myself

Anybody love it as is?

I just can't see buying one if it's going to need trigger work. I'm not inclined to send off a gun for an update. I'm a revolver nut thinking of purchasing a 9VE.

I like the ergos on it better than the Glock.

Does it smooth out after x number of rounds?

Thoughts?

Thanks,

lee

I bought this pistol two weeks ago. My first trip to the range blew me away. I was more accurate with the Sigma than my two Sigs or my Hi-Powers and the gun was flawless with both ball and 3 brands of HP's. I am mostly a SA guy, not a revolver guy, so the fly in the ointment was the trigger. I called LSG and they said send it back. This was painless [free shipping and free trigger job], and the gun was back in 5 days. I expected an improvement, but I didn't expect a miracle. I know they can't shorten the travel, but it sure seems like they did - smooth as glass and a light pull. It's now better than my Kahr, which I always thought had a perfect DA trigger. I can't wait to get back to the range to see if my shooting is even better. At $249 this gun is the deal of the decade. I don't know why I ever spent $500 - $800 for other pistols.

I just got back from the range after shooting my 9VE. It shoots great, trigger is smooth, but a bit heavy, like my revolvers and I love it. It has a Hogue rubber slip-on grip and I love that too. I have been stocking up on factory mags and will be making this one of my main carry guns.

Great Gun for the $$ it's a self defence gun not a range gun, But I can get under 3in @ 25yrds ; ) PS I'd get another!!

No grit? Humm,,, maybe they got there act together. :)

I bought my SW40F back in it first came out in 1994 and have not changed a thing. S&W replaced a broken striker and polished the feed ramp to make it work again, and it had been fine since. I can't think that I would change a thing.

I don't own a Sigma but I've put plenty of rounds thru one.
It had 400-500 rounds thru it by the time I got to shoot it and it was okay by me. Long trigger stroke but it was smooth and never malfunctioned. We were shooting Blazers, a bit dirty but always went bang. I will probably buy one in .40 after the holidays.
POA/POI was good too after a bit of practice.

No I don't love it as it came.

But I love it after the free trigger tuneup it got from S&W -

Shoots a lot better now.

For $250 you just can't beat it.

Hello first time poster. I just bought the SW9VE for $299 - $50 rebate from Larry's.

I also do not mind the hard trigger. I can see it only becoming a problem if you are going to rapid fire all the time - then you could have a sore finger.

I just picked mine up today. For $250, I think this gun rocks. The trigger has no grit to it. Hell, my S&W MP 45 has a grittier trigger than this Sigma. Is it a heavy pull, no for me. I'll shoot mine on Friday before I render a final verdict, but I can't see it changing much unless this thing shoots 3 ft. off center. Just ordered a set of Meps for $75.00.
