Any word on the Bodyguard?

The NRA convention is this weekend in Charlotte NC. I wouldn't be surprised if they made their debut then.

I spoke to my friend who owns 3 gun shops in northern Wisconsin and he stated delivery should be approx May 26th.

Very tight supply with initial production order already sold out. He has 37 sold upon delivery at his largest gun shop in Wausau, WI.

Want to see it, want to hold it, want to shoot it. Hurry up! I suppose we won't see it at the range until fall. Hopefully we'll get some reliable range reports.

Odd time to be introducing a new 380. Do they give you a coupon for a box of ammo with that?

What good would a coupon do if there's no .380 on the shelves? Maybe they will come up with a rebate deal; 2 mags or 20 rounds of bulk .380acp.

.380 Bodyguard

Handled it today at the NRA convention. Could be the biggest seller S&W has introduced in quite a while. Its the real deal. Light, comfortable, features(safety, laser) and will be Smith reliable. Shipping in 2 weeks. Can't do anything about ammo.

I thought S&W would hype it big time at the NRA.

As I mentioned in a previous post, my buddy owns 3 gun shops and has never had so many units "pre-sold" for a new gun introduction.

I really have not seen that much promotional coverage on the BodyGuards yet.

I'm buying the revolver version!

Anybody know the price range? Who are they competing with? LCP/P3AT/Guardian or Kahr P380? (or are they going for a new high.)

I was just at my local gunshop and they said the word from their S&W distributor is "mid-July". I sure hope this thing is worth waiting for.

I bought a Diamondback DB380 in the meantime because it has similar dimensions to the Bodyguard 380. Despite some negative reviews on other sites.
I've put 500 rounds through it and I've had no problems. I do have to say that if you limp wrist, it will misfeed. Besides that, it's a great little BUG.
