Anybody else feel obsessed about their M&P 15-22? I've found that since I bought mine that all of my conversations steer towards guns, ammo, gun laws, and more gun related stuff. I am really trying to control myself...but I am failing miserably. When I am not talking about guns and I am by myself, I tend to find myself looking at my guns, touching them, cleaning them, counting my ammo, and...

I just got my 15-22 MOE. It is my first rifle. I know how you feel. It seems as though I am always talking guns as of lately. I bought my first firearm this past September and within the last year I have now acquired 5 of them with the 15-22 being the latest.

And I thought it was just normal behavior...:)

...I am going to try and not take my guns out of the safe or gun cabinet for at least 7 days, starting today. Is there a Gun-Nuts Anonymous Group I could join? This darn rifle is like crack. Oh gosh, I already feel my veins throbbing.

Your a bigger guy than me... I'd probably need one of those interventions or something... I've been this way since I was a kid... It's just a way of life...:D

Never been obsessed with a .22

Now, show me a rack full of 243 and up....... and I start sweating.
Once we get around 300 Weatherby magnum, or 338RUM??????? Yeah; I drool, and fidget a lot, and start thinking of how I could sell a kidney to get one.

But not over a .22.

I owned a couple handguns but was forced to sell them when I lost my job and was on hard times. Well, now I have been in a decent job for quite a while and have built a decent level of seniority and I caught the bug again. Starting with rifles this time, and since mid august have bought an AR-15, my 15-22 and just last Fri an AK-47. Next I plan on a shotty, then back to the world of handguns. Yeah, I need help lol.

My wife goes you keep talking about that gun and now your buying parts for it too, " who are you and where did you come from "

She won't understand until you let her shoot it. Do what I did. Put three rounds in a mag and let her shoot those three to get an idea of sighting, etc. Then put in a full 25 round mag, point her in a safe direction, and say "now empty that in less than 5 seconds." My wife's been a 15-22 friend ever since.

Nothing like (cheap) rapid fire to enpower one's ego! Even the ladies!

I've been shooting for 40+ years and have acquired and disposed of more than a few firearms during that time. I have quite a few in the vault right now, but none is as much fun to shoot as the 15-22. I enjoy shooting them all, but it seems that the 15-22 gets more use than all the others combined - and that includes several other .22s.

I'm on my way this afternoon to my LGS. They just announced a sale and I'm getting one for my 8-year old grandson for Christmas, so He'll quit hogging mine. :) BTW, $389.95 plus tax.

DelFuego,

There is nothing wrong with your or anyone behavior here. This is normal for anyone that has a passion about something. It is all good and gives each of us a way to enjoy life in addition to the everyday aspects.

Look at the post about time with the family, friends at the range, grand kids hogging the 15-22. I hope that my grandson will have that issue in the future he is still to young to take to the range.

This is all good. We are all part of this same club, but I do not feel we need help. My wife on some days would disagree but get the family out there and let them shoot and they too will get the feeling of empowerment. Both wife and daughter go to the range with me.

Now they don't want to go to the range as often as all of us do but when they want to join us, that is great and they are welcome to come along.

Enjoy the obsession, we all need passion in our lives and passion for guns, shooting, cleaning, ammo is all good.

After this post I need a trip to the range this afternoon.

I am counting the days till the weather cools so i can shoot 2-3x a week:D

I am reloading .223 for my 15 Sport becouse of my Obsession..

Just got 8k rds of .22 for my 15-22...

And looking at re-loading 9mm as well...

Yes it is an addiction... But its Legal and way Fun

And with a Slide fire on my Sport and 15-22... FULL RETARDATION fun

LOL

The 15-22 rifle is the most fun gun I have bought, period... I own over 100 S&W hand guns and other rifles and shot guns and I can't get enough of this gun. I just installed a Midwest single point mount for my marpol ms3 sling and it works great.

i just had a similar convo with the gf. i had already spent almost $400 on ammo and a new xd trigger kit by 6am. she knows this is my primary hobby now and the nice thing about .22 is it keeps the costs down. the 15-22 has definitely got me more comfortable shooting and modding. i do have an addictive personality where im continually trying to learn and improve. i was the same way with my infinitis. 1 of the best bonuses of a new hobby/interest though are the people you meet along the way, most of my best friends are old car buddies.

no, Ive actually been mulling over selling mine..

i find myself shooting my AK or my M4gery more often that the 15-22

Lgs has a sale on them 389.00 . Gotta get one at that price.
Looks like I'm Gunna be joining the crowd of 15/22 lovers.

Don't forget spare magazines. There a whole box of them on the floor at the back of the store.

You will NOT regret it. Really no down-side to it at all.. well other than the fact that sale price is prolly what they should be going at for full price, but what ya gonna do ;)
