Anybody else had trouble with Buds?

This has come up before:

Bud's Gun Shop

I had an unpleasant experience with Bud's on Gunbroker.

They offered a low price for a magazine, so I bought it and had it shipped to the house, as I usually do. I came home a week later to find an "Adult Signature Required" sticker on the door. I didn't request an adult signature requirement, and Bud's never told me about it (or I would have had it shipped to the office - I work for a living, like many people, and am not around home during the day). I missed the next delivery attempt. My work schedule at the time did not allow me to drive to UPS or FedEx to get the thing from them (this is why I ordered online for delivery instead of merely driving to Sportsman's Warehouse to pick up a mag).

I called Bud's and explained they had not mentioned the adult signature requirement or I would have had the magazine delivered to the office, so I felt they should pay to re-ship the magazine when it was returned to them. Their customer service rep was kind of an astonishing jerk, so I told him, "Fine, I'll contest the charge since you didn't deliver it." I did, wrote them bad GB feedback, and they wrote me bad GB feedback (the only I've ever received).

Bud's will not receive my business again, even though they often advertise low prices.

My last purchase was from their website. The gun is great and exactly what I wanted at a very good price. The purchase was smooth and shipping was alright. If I had one complaint, it would be that their post purchase customer info was lacking. They didn't seem to have any rush to update the order status, I.E. Processing, Packaged, Shipped. I don't think their online status update even told me it had shipped till the day my local LEO called me and told me the gun had arrived.

As with anything, there is always room for improvement.

Buds is a little less expensive however once you pay the shipping & transfer fees to your LGS there is really no savings to speak of. When you purchase a gun locally you can see, touch, operate and inspect before pulling out your wallet. With Bud's it's a pain in the Butt to return and just not worth the hassle IMO.

That's not the case here. Vegas is at the end of everybody's supply chain and the major gunstores price things on that basis. After shipping and transfer fees I can still be $50-100 ahead on a new gun.
