Anybody Else Use The Tinkle Test To Find Split Brass

Maybe I just have better ears. but I contend I can hear a case with any kind of split.

I guess you could tinkle in your brass cases if your aim is that good. If it holds tinkle than its not cracked right?

Excellent point, but it seems like it would be a slow process.

I have on suspect brass, but if I did a whole batch I would have to con my wife to pick it all up which would never happen. My back is bad enough.

Can we name it something else??

I'm with 125JHP, I would miss the tinkle,it would have to be more like a thud or maybe a clap of thunder.Too many loud noises over the years.

I loaded about 400 rounds of 45acp this weekend and heard the tinkle 3 or 4 times.

I do a handful at a time to listen for that odd sound. If I get it I look at all of them otherwise I toss them in the feed bin next to the press to reload. Takes about 10 min to do a 1000
