ANYBODY FOR A SCOTCH?

I like Glenlivet but, mostly stay with Irish. Been meaning to try Tullamore Dew. If I go anything else I like Buffalo Trace if you can get it, it's hard to get in my area. You need to be on the list and they call you when it comes in. I also like Makers Mark. Not too fond of JD or Jim Beam, if I take one tipple of them tonight then tomorrow I will taste it in everything I drink.Back in my younger years I drank nothing but JD black but either it changed or I did.

One drink of Scotch MANY years ago was enough for me to swear off. I suppose it must be an acquired taste. Not that I have ever been a fancier of hard liquor of any kind, except on rare special occasions. When I do drink it is most frequently Gin.

The local "Wine and More" liquor superstore has a "Gallery" of super expensive spirits inside a locked glass door cabinet, but nothing approaching $40K that I have yet seen there.

Was never a beer drinker and usually only drank wine, but then about 5 years ago a friend I shoot with turned me on to better whiskies. Unfortunately I now like some that are very expensive.

Scotch is an acquired taste. I was a Bourbon only person for many years and then slowly worked my way into Scotch. I am a Balvenie drinker. I started out with the 12yr old and then discovered the 21yr old. That is primo. The 17yr old is very good too. Scotch is a special time drink. I never have it just to be drinking, I have it when something is special and I want to drink to it.

I like scotch quite a bit, but the weather has to be right for me to want to drink it. It’s a patience drink for me.

My go-to bottles are Oban and the Two-Buck Chuck of the scotch world-SHEEP DIP. It’s a blended scotch but is made of only single malts, so it can still technically be called a single malt scotch. It’s fabulous.

My only Scotch preference is I require it in a glass.
The flavors are so varied. Really enjoy trying ones I've not had.
I keep to the $40/50 versions. For my 60th birthday I recieved a 21 year old Glenlivet. Wish my wife made more annual income!
