Anyone carrying a small auto in the front pocket without a holster?

I'm not making a connection here. My pants fit me well enough that I can't manipulate the trigger from outside the pocket on pure accident. Even if I were to wear clown pants, I'm not making the connection on accidentally putting something else in my pocket, because I'm not irresponsible with firearms. The type of person that forgets they are carrying a firearm may not be responsible enough to carry a firearm to begin with, in their pocket or otherwise.

If one can fit a gun AND other stuff in one's pockets, one needs to consult one's wardrobe in a serious way. I still have this picture of a young man with his pants sagging so low that you can see his underwear.

I'm thinking you don't wear cargo shorts, or pants from Duluth Trading... I can pocket carry a Glock 19, the pockets are so big. Could easily throw my keys in that pocket with my firearm if I am not paying attention. Young guys with their phone and head phones... I could see them throwing the headphones in the pocket with gun without thinking about it and the cord getting in with the trigger.

I can also push my finger down inside the trigger guard from outside of the pocket. Those are the concerns.

Fan of the kydex Vedder Pocket Locker, well designed holster that hugs the leg, protects the trigger, and releases with just a thumb push on the draw.

For bigger pockets and small guns, like the De Santis as the slightly thicker bulk helps center the pistol in the pocket.

Years back, sat down at the dinner table at a family outing, and realized the barrel of the unholstered handgun in my pocket was pointing directly at one of my grandkids, and could feel it shifting around when I moved. Excused myself and went outside and locked it in the truck.

After that, when a handgun goes in my pocket, it is holstered.

Are you familiar with Duluth Trading pants?
I am on their website looking at the full length pants. There are so many models with different pocket configurations. I'm thinking that the font pockets with vertical openings might be better for something like a Sig P365 in a Vetter holster. What do you think?

The Vetter/Sig combination does not work with the jeans that I have now. It carries fine, but the draw is really bad. I could never rely on it.

have bought and carried Mika's and still have all i've bought. feel they are better for revolvers than for semi auto. for semi autos i'm completely in the Vedder camp. can reach in a drawer at night and pick up my holstered Body Guard or RM380, put it in my pocket and take the pup out for her potty run. simple and safe.

I only have some of the cargo shorts and the pockets in those are large and deep. I can put a Glock 19 in those pockets, so when I carry a pistol in my pocket in those, it has to have a holster to keep it in place. I think the cargo pants are built the same.

The smallest pistols I have are the Sig P290RS and the Keltec PF-9. I haven't found a pair of jeans that I can carry either of those in.

Not to go too far off the original posts question....I have a Bodyguard and Sig 938 and have tried them with and without holsters just around the house to see it I liked it. I didn't really like it because I just hate stuff in my pockets and the bigger that stuff it the more I hate it. What I did and to me its perfect is a ComfortTec Belly Band I can pretty much have empty pockets using that and the gun is snug into my body and very very accessible by me. For how much they cost its definitely worth a try to see how you like it especially if you live in a warm climate and wear shorts a lot.
