I see no reason for such a test. Do your test in 200 round intervals and clean it properly. I would never consider such a mistreatment of the gun. But, your gun
Summer before last I wanted to see how nasty I could get the PowerPort just for snits & giggles. I went well past the 2000 round mark without a hitch. This was shooting lead and using CFE-P powder. Checking for loose screws every 100 rounds is just common sense, not cleaning. I really don't see how this will cause a gun harm as long as the innards are lubed. And it doesn't take but a couple of drops in the right spots to keep the gun happy.

Agreed! On a stainless-steel finish no harm will happen in 2K rounds especially when properly lubed. On a blued Revo in regards to the finish... I dunno... Stainless is far more durable.... and a blued finish is the glass jaw of finishes I'm convinced, albeit the most beautiful and desirable. But mechanical harm, no, it won't happen on either you are 100% correct. I simply can't let myself go that long without cleaning a firearm just like I won't go 3 months without a full detail on our new Rubicon or 4x4 Explorer. It's a mental thing I guess but I'm darn interested on the results to those here that can!
I started off that way but when I'm shooting the same gun 3 times a week, week after week, there's just not enough time in the day. Now I clean it down about once every two months. My other guns will get a good cleaning every 3 or 400 rounds. There's just no point in cleaning every 50 to 60 rounds. Ain't like brushing your teeth...the gun ain't gonna get cavities. Even then the cylinder face doesn't get cleaned unless I'm going to take pics of it. It's going to get dirty again after the first six rounds. Not being lazy, just practical. My Dad always said if it ain't broke don't fix it.
Now the Vette....that's a different story.![]()
