Anyone Else Like Lever Action Rifles Here!

Have a few, my favorite is my grandfathers 1894 Winchester in 25-35. Others include a Savage 99 in 243, Marlin youth in 30-30 and Henry in 41 mag.

Love those lever`s

I have 3 Marlin`s: A 1991yr Model 39 that loves CCI Blazers, A 1981yr 1894 Model in 44 Mag with XS ghost ring sights...shoots great already but my brother just gave me some 240 gr SPs from Roze Dist that are sized .431 to try out. He thinks they`re the cat`s meow for that 1/38 twist. Lastly a JM 35 Remington with a 1.5x5 scope, loves those Speer 180 Hot Cores.

I love lever action rifles. I’m partial to pre war Winchesters. The quality is just phenomenal. Here are a few of my favorites. I’m away from home, and don’t have access to all my rifles. I’ll post some more next week.

Disregard the handguns.

2 Henrys. Big Boy 357mag, blue 22mag.

Looking to add a Savage 99 in 308 if I can find one that doesn't require a second mortgage.

My first rifle was a Ithaca M49 .22 LR, a single shot falling block styled like a lever action carbine. I have owned a Winchester M9422 in .22 LR, a early Marlin 1895 in .45-70, a Marlin 1870-1970 .22 LR, a Marlin 1894 CL in .32-20, a Winchester M92 in .32-20, a Uberti Golden Boy (M1866) in .38 special and a Rossi Trapper in .44 Magnum.

Some years back I wondered aloud why the lever-action did not catch on with the military, say for the Spanish-American War and WWI. The answer I got, from whom I do not remember, was that they were considered insufficiently reliable.
Anybody know anything else as to why?

My first was a Marlin 45-70, and later a Winchester 94 .32 Winchester Special. Most recent was a Henry .22. I really like it and shoot it a lot.

here's a peek into one of my display cabinets with around a dozen Winchester and Marlin lever actions. I get a great deal of enjoyment out of shooting these some of which are over 100 years old. BTW: These go into a safe when I'm away from home! Sorry about the dark pictures but there isn't a lot of light in my den.
