So I finally just found a Smith Auto I like and picked up a 3953 last weekend to add to the herd.

I was prompted to post pictures so I thought I'd post a family shot of my metal framed single stack 9s

Are there any other guys out there who love this platform for ccw? I just can't seem to warm up to plastic guns...
Please feel free to add pictures of your favorite single stack 9 carry gun.

During my career as a U.S. Customs Special Agent, I had the opportunity to be issued a 3953 as a concealed carry pistol. I LOVED that pistol. It was accurate, and for having a DAO trigger, it was smooth and had a decent trigger pull, and it was very accurate.

It was my daily carry pistol, and only left in the car if we were doing tactical operations, and I used my Glock 22. I carried the Glock 22 in a thigh rig, so concealment wasn't a concern.

I carried the 3953 until the entire agency went to the Glock 19 and 26.

My hands love the single stacks. Will get a pic of the P6 as soon as I can.

You need to get a 39 or a 4/5/639. One of the finest grips out there. If they had put some aggressive checkering on the front strap then I would have said perfect. I also noticed that there is no 1911 in your picture ,Gods own single stack .

Oh, dear, an HK P7 squeeze cocker....how nice!!!! :D YUMMY!!!!

You know, I never even think about the fact that I have 9mms that are single or double stacked. How embarrassing!!!!

Walther P4
SIG 2022
Browning H-P
S&W 5903

I think they're all double stacked!

I think I'll just drool over that squeeze cocker.....

Oh ya.......

3913 and 3913NL , w/ Hogue wood grips and a flat steel base 7rd mag....... are everyday carry for me.......

3914 with checkered wood Hogues and flush fit 7rd. mag...... what Bond should have carried....

and a favorite (and sometime Fall/winter carry) is the Beretta 92 Compact (4.25 inch barrel) Type M..... 8+1! With rubber grips almost as nice in the hand as a Smith 39.

Fungunnin if your looking for a carry single stack .45..... try the Sig 245 or 220 compact.... I had an early 4516 but it was just to heavy........

The problem I have with most Smith Autos and Berrettas is the safety on the slide. I much prefer a smooth slide as I have a tendency of engaging the safety during tap rack bang drills.

1911s are great guns but I've never wandered into that realm of toys.
I stick to old Smith wheel guns in 38/357, .22 target guns, and 9mm autos.

Fungunnin......... I have something you'd like ........ a Beretta 92 M-D.

Not very common...... it's a DAO compact single stack...only safety is the revolver like trigger pull ... if you know Beretta's with the DOA, D spring..... it's like shooting a 9 shot S&W DA revolver!

I have always wanted one... I had one of the DAO double stack guns. Great triggers!

Single stacks are the best.

S&W 39-2
S&W 639
S&W 3906
S&W 3904
S&W 3913NL
SIG P225
SIG P220 Euro
Walther P4
Walther P5
H&K P7PSP

Funny, you come back on and you realize you have another gun you forgot about. I'm fairly certain my little Kel-Tec 9mm is single stacked. The only reason I still own that ***, however, is that I can't bring myself to subject anyone else to it or to take a nice person's money for it.

My S&W CS-45, however, is a SWELL single stacked .45!!!

Then you will need to look into one of the new XDS 9mm, had one out on a test run a few weeks ago it's a slick little gun. I know it's a poly pistol ( oh the humanity ) but I liked it allot. Yes , I do have a 3913nl and 2 639s for my single stack 9mm fix but I am thinking hard about that XDS. I do like your P7, they do get hot when you start running rds through them but slick none the less.

Yes, P6!! I have medium sized hands and a P6 fits much better than the double stack P226 I also have. I've looked at and drooled over 39s and 39-2s, but just never found one at the right time/price.

Other than those two Sig pistols and a 1911, I guess I'm like fungunnin'--- I tend to find S&W revolvers to give a home to.

The P7 does warm up after three rapid mags but never had it to the point of not being able to shoot it. There is something comforting about a warm gun in the holster too!
The other option is owning a second P7 so you can rotate them :D

Plastic guns don't count. They are like ugly mistresses. They get the job done but you aren't going to snuggle with her.

Sounds like a plan, just not seeing to many P7s floating around lately.

I'd like to find a nice 639....Haven't seen one since I decided I wanted one.... which was at least 13 years ago...... got holsters and extra mags ready to go..................................

I had some (2-3) 39-2s over the years.... but they were safe queens....... falling prey to the 3913s as carry guns.

Still have a S&W 9mm (pre 39) safe queen...... it's LNIB.... but

a 639 for the range would be sweet.

I have a 39-2 and a 439. They both just feel great in your hand. Smith made such high quality stuff at that time.
