When I put on a badge, my duty revolver was either a 3"/4" K-frame or 4" L-frame .357 Magnum. My backup guns were Airweight J-frames until I finally found a 2" S&W Model 12-2 Airweight K-frame. After I retired, I retired the Model 12-2 (shipped in 1963). My 1st/last duty revolver is my 4" Model 65-1. My usual EDC is a 2" steel Taurus 856. Sometimes a Ruger EC9s takes its place for a lower profile. Shortly before I retired, I had the "opportunity" to shoot a Model 340 PD with Magnum ammo. I didn't drop it and hit the silhouette with all 5 rounds. I handed it back to the owner with thanks and iced my hand. For revolvers these days, I prefer steel.
