anyone else shoot a taurus ....

"Friends don't let friends buy Taurus."
There's at least one in every crowd.

Like others here I actually have experience with Taurus/Rossi firearms.

I have 2 Rossi revolvers, 2 Rossi lever action rifles, 2 Taurus revolvers, and 3 Taurus semi-autos.
Never any real problems with any of them. All shoot and function just fine and all were a good value.

I have owned two Taurus revolvers and both worked well. (I eventually used them to move up the gun ladder) {I sold them to friends that are still my friends}

I currently have a 6 year old PT1911 that has behaved splendidly.

Oh yeah, this little thumper rests at my bedside, ready to reduce "the thing that goes bump in the night" to "the thing that went thud on my floor" at a moment's notice...

Taurus Judge Magnum - Matte Stainless Steel finish with Altamont Super Rosewood grips.

Between my family and I there are a total of 5 Taurus brand firearms in my household which have all performed flawlessly.

Buddy’s gun and pic. Thinks ammo related (.45)

2.5" judge with evidently hot .45 colt rd. Was shooting across hood and broke windshield when cylinder let go.

By the looks of things, he probably got the bright idea to shoot a .444 Marlin out of his Judge when he discovered that it would fit. Because I accidentally shot a good 20 loose rounds of overpressure .45LC out of my Judge with absolutely no damage to the gun whatsoever. He had to have shot something way over the Judge's peak operating pressure threshold to produce such a catastrophic failure.

One issue with the Judge is that it will chamber certain cartridges which are way too high pressure for it to withstand. The cylinder tapers down a bit past the length of a .45 Long Colt to prevent .454 Cassul or .460 S&W Magnum from chambering, but other cartridges such as the .444 Marlin will still chamber.

I have four I think, and have traded off that many. I've found them to be good serviceable firearms for the most part. I had one I had to send back but they fixed it up and sent it back promptly with a spare mag.

I like them, but I don't love them. They are "good for the price" because generally you can buy two for what one of something else costs. They are not match grade guns. But right now there's a lot of quality low-priced guns around. It might be you can thank Taurus for that.

My biggest gripe is they won't sell parts and magazine availability is usually iffy. Really iffy.

Over the years, I've had several Taurus products. I currently have two model 431 .44 Specials, a 905 9mm revolver, a .45 semi-auto, and two Rossi revolvers, a 462 .357 and a 511 .22LR. No problems, issues, anything. (The 462 IS part of a recall having to do with the hammer-block, but I chose not to send it in. Works just fine as-is.) They're all just as reliable and accurate as anything else in my accumulation. The 44s are something I wish S&W would have made and I got the 2 for less than what a 696 would've cost, if I could find one. And the same with the 9 - at least I could readily find it, vs. a 940.
Everybody likes what they like, and I don't expect my experiences to change anyone's minds. But I'm also not ashamed to like something that others may look down upon. Like they say, too old to need to prove anything!

My one and only plastic fantastic.... a Taurus g2c, (updated pt111) 12+1 of 9mm in a relatively compact package, and shoots exceptionally well for a $200 out the door handgun.....

I used a Taurus model 94, for many years, teaching beginners how to shoot.
Picture on the left below. Retired from teaching a few years ago and gave the
gun to a grandson. The model 94 always performed flawlessly.
2nd from left the model 94 in a little Brauer Bros. holster.

Taurus 455 , 5 shot 45 acp 2" ported barrel , stainless steel .
100% satisfaction. Purchased in 2004 , I shoot it a lot and it is extremely accurate...my Colt Gold Cup is jealous .
I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Taurus .

I don't have any experience with Taurus revolvers but I've had a stainless PT1911 for a couple of years now, great gun. Made a few mods to it. Couldn't stand the Heine sights that came on it so I went with a low-mount Bowmar type. I don't like Commander style hammers or beavertail grip safeties so I went with a wide hammer and an extended standard style grip safety. Handles to my liking now and shoots like a dream.

I had a Taurus .44 Special and two .380 autos and all worked great. They are not as refined as other guns that cost a whole lot more but they were excellent values that got the job done just fine.

I was married to a Taurus and although I wanted to at times I never shot her.

Oh wait were talking handguns.

In that case yes I have shot a couple they alright but to me anyway SW builds a better gun.

I was in a pawn shop and a kid brought this Taurus 608, 8 shot .357 in and tried to get $150.00 for it. This was about 15 years ago. He said he had only shot one half box of cartridges through it. I waited until he came out in the parking lot and purchased it. I shot it some and then gave it to my son. It has never shown any problems.

Rusty, what grips are those?

I have only one Taurus, a Model 96 that I bought about 20 years ago. It is analogous to the S&W K-22, but with a different lock work. It's not as nice as a K-22, but it cost a lot less than a K-22 and it works just fine.

Taurus

I had a .380 Pistol. Would jam
On almost every clip I used.
Traded fir a Ruger .380 no problem after that
