Is there anyone on the forum from the eastern part of Ky.
I am looking for someone who enjoys collecting and shooting, that would like to get together and do some tradin' or shootin'.
I am kinda new to the area.

I am in the Frankfort area and know another forum member in the Lexington area. What area of eastern Kentucky are you in?

rburg will trade with you, but watch him close.

They all steal from me. I'm so easy its sickening.

And he said Eastern Kentucky. It covers a huge area, with no defined borders. I'm in what is disgustingly called Northern Kentucky. So close to the damned Yankees you smell them when the wind is wrong.

Darrel,
I'm in Prestonsburg also
Maybe we can get together some time
Do you know of any good ranges?

Lexington Ky here, there are several pistol and rifle matches if you know where to look. The bluegrass sportsman league has shoots every weekend for pistol ranging from bulls eye, ISPCA, IDPA, and cowboy action. If your near knob creek there is a pistol club KPDL that is very similar to IPDA and much more lax on the rules. Its great for beginners to the sport. I am a member at alot of these clubs and shoot at least once a month. Consider yourself invited. If you need more info feel free to PM me.

thanks datsun, maybe I will message you some time when I have a weekend off and you can introduce me to some of the club members
thanks again,
quentin

South central KY, but a far cry from anywhere I would consider Eastern KY. I'd have to drive for four hours before I heard the blasting in the coal mines...

I'm not from Ky, but my parents were from Olive Hill and Globe in Carter County.

Isn't Prestonburg near Morehead? I have a cousin that runs a gun/pawn shop in Morehead, or at least he did the last time I talked to him. I believe it's called J&B pawn or something like that.

When I was in Afghanistan, another advisor, originally from Michigan, made a crack about Virginia. I told him that if he had been born 150 years earlier, he too would have been a Virginian. He bet me that his birthplace had NOT been part of Virginia back then. I said $10 and he said, "I'll bet my whole monthly paycheck (which was around $8000 at the time)."

I told him I couldn't take that much money from him. He about messed his britches when I pulled up the information on the Internet and showed him the map. :D

That's not surprising. History has been so bastardized in regards to the Old South and Lincolns administration that most Americans don't have a clue about what their country was like, or what really happened and why at the time.
