Found a nice dealer certified coupe and was wondering if there are any problems with the particular model.
Want to buy new, but not much out there as far as a coupe, and I can get this fairly loaded car for the same as what lots of cheap cars sell for.

Hi NSL,
My brother is a Honda dealer mechanic and he recommends frequent oil changes, not the longer manufacturer periods. Newer engines have weak rings in order to increase gas mileage. These allow for carbon buildup, resulting in increased oil consumption. This is true for all of the large volume manufacturers, I use full synthetic in my 2016 F150 V8 and change oil every 4,000 miles, I intend to drive it well over 100,000 miles. I have no doubt that if I relied on the computer to tell me when to change oil that I could go well over 6,000 mile before a change.

I've been in his shop a couple of times when he was working on newer engines because they were using a lot of oil. If you've ever rebuilt an older engine, the rings required a ring expander to get the rings over the piston and into the grooves. I could put the rings on the new engines without a tool.

The rest of the Accord is well made and should run for many years if maintained. I'd guess that the electronics will give out before the mechanical side.
