Ok, never much of a drinker, I found a lot of old whiskey bottles in the house (all in the basement in a cool dark spot. Among them was this unopened bottle of sake. I have a couple people tell me its worth money. What do I do with this stuff?

I know that consuming way too much of it will cause you to think that you can speak Japanese and also cause you to do other things that you will regret the next day.

As far as the value...that would depend on how old it is. 60's, 70's etc. I googled it and didn't find too much. Just drink it (warm) and report back...

I've had it warmed, wonderful stuff on a cold winter night watching it snow outside the restaurant. Check in with your local Asian restaurant and see what they say...

It does make that nearly live squid go down easier.:D

I have no idea of collectability, but I don't recall there being much demand for aged sake.

In the Bathhouses in Japan, Public or Private, They have (or at least had, in the early 50s) wooden floats which hold a Sake bottle and small ceramic handle less cups. The bath attendant will keep floating over more to you whenever you want. The results are as jetstream describes.

The water is very hot, sometimes you need help, maybe even a lot of help, getting out of the bath.

I know I drank too much of it on business trips to Japan. Need to save face with clients which means drinking with them and eating still alive fish. Nasty. Amazing how much those little Japaneses people can drink.

you just thought you were eating still alive fish.....

Appears to be "pre-zip code" so a full bottle could bring some good money on eBay. Not a lot if it is empty. That's quite a collector's item. Just my two cents.
