Anyone know which serial #'s had "the fix" for the 15-22?

I've got a DTU9### serial number and haven't put a round through it since puchased at the Marlboro gun show mid Jan.

It's not what you think, it's for my son. He turns 7 in May and it's time. All I am waiting for is the Trijicon RX30 from Botach to mount then it will be ready - like I said in the other thread should be plenty of time.

The only protential issue I can think of is he is a lefty.

Would anyone not let him fire it until it has at least 100 rounds and a cleaning or two done? Or should I sit him down, show him how to clean it, take him to the range and let him have at it?

I duknow if a 7yo lefty would be the best test pilot for a rifle with a track record of OOBs like the 15-22. Maybe after a trip to S&W for a blue outfit.

That's what I thought, but read another thread that S&W won't make a pre-emptive repair.

I know about the recommended ammo (it was even listed in the manual) - I'll pick some up when we get closer to B-day.

A guy posted an OOB and broken extractor with recommended ammo the other day. Fed American Eagle.

Folks have returned their 15-22 to S&W without it being broken. I think Woodnack just sent his back with everything still intact.

Yup she is all wrapped and waiting for the fedex labels to show. I had no problems dealing with S&W so far and I have feeling they will get this all worked out.

They said they wouldn't make the pre-emptive repair/upgrade. :(

Guess we will sort it out on the range. :D

Another month and he can know about it :D
