Anyone modified a Glock barrel to work in a SD9 or SD40?

So I have an SD40VE and would love to be able to shoot 357 sig through it, and I came across a post on reddit of a guy who modified a Glock 32 barrel to work in an SD40VE but it looked very bubba-ish so I thought I'd check here. It seemed like all he did was enlarge the cam area and welded on some material at the front where it contacts the slide lock. Has anyone on here done this?

I thought of that but I believe the OD of the 9 barrel is different than the 40.....and I want a threaded barrel and the only one that exists for the sd9 is the apex at $230
