I don’t think the few ounces of weight make it easier to pack OR harder to shoot. I’d like to have one because I’m a 44mag fan and I think they are beautiful guns. The guy’s complaining about extra recoil probably shouldn’t shoot any 44 mags.
Yes. I prefer the classic appearance of the standard Smith & Wesson revolvers like the models 19, 66, 27, 686 and others. I prefer my 617 over the Mountain Gun version, especially for that kind of money. I know it won't shoot any better than my 617.
To each their own... I like the "Mountain Gun", it looks nice. Good lines. But if weight is the issue then I'd be looking at a Model 69 (L frame 5 shot .44 Magnum). I know the Model 69 is made with 4.25in and 2.75in barrels. I have a 4in Model 69 and it is a sweet gun. I carry it in bear country in MT and WY.
