If you own a 686 Plus Pro Series revolver (7 shot with the 5 inch barrel) I would like to know whether you like it or not. Appreciate your experiences. Thanks.

Yes. I bought one two weeks ago. I like the looks & feel of it but............. nobody's been able to plow the 2+ feet of snow & ice to get back to my gun club's range, so I haven't been able to shoot it yet.

I have owned mine for a couple of months. It had a canted barrel and had to go back to the factory twice for correction. I've only shot it a couple of times and really like it. However, a friend has a 5" full lug 686 and I think I like the balance better on the full lug. This gun and the full lug weigh within 1 ounce of each other. How can that be?

Thanks for the replies. I hope Iron gets to shoot his soon. I did get to shoot mine today and loved it. Dick, I had checked out the regular 686's and liked this one better. For one, I think I read that Smith & Wesson did the same trigger work on these as they did on the 686 SSR's. I know I loved the trigger when shooting mine today and it felt good even dry firing it in the store. That was one of the things that sold it for me. Also, I know the regular 686 6" felt barrel heavy to me with the full lug. The 4" felt ok but I really like the balance of the 686 plus in 5". I'm not sure how both 5" models can be almost the same weight as you indicated but I could see how the Pro could weigh about the same as 686 4" with a full lug. I would shoot your friend's gun before making a change to see if you like the trigger job as well. Good luck, Jim
