I just saw one today and was wondering if anyone had shot one.

I had one. For a plastic revolver it was/is very good. Hate to say it but the trigger on it is better than a stock 442 or 642. It was even better than after I changed the springs in my 642.
The grip was very comfortable and the gun was easier to shoot than a SW J frame. Nice cushy grip in the web portion of your hand. I sold it as the grip was to large to pocket carry comfortably. I now see they have a boot grip version and a 357 Mag version.
Talk about a stupid lock system, it is a more fool proof design than SW but you need to remove the grips to turn the key which prevents the hammer strut from going down.
It's light, easy to shoot, good price but plastic.
I doubt I will get another nor the SW Bodyguard with laser.

Used to be that plastic was one of the differences between revolver guys and semi-auto guys, but the LCR kinda blurs that line. I've never shot one but it sounds like a functional self-defence tool.

Big bonus for me is that the LCR and my 442 both fit in the same Mika.
I really can't find anything I hate about this gun. My dad bought one with the Crimson Trace option and he loves it.
I have one, and I really like it. The "standard" Hogue grip really soaks up the recoil...it is surprisingly comfortable to shoot. I haven't shot the boot grip model, or one with laser grips. I also find it easy to pocket carry...it's not heavy, and it fit in my pockets okay (in an Uncle Mike's pocket holster.)
I really like the .357 version....it's a little heavier (17oz vs 13oz) but not noticeably different. I load mine with .38 +P. When I say I like that version, it isn't because it functions any differently...I mean because the added weight (even though slight) helps with recoil, and the .357 caliber makes for a stronger revolver, IMO.
It does indeed have a lock, but it is hidden beneath the grips, and you can ignore it. I haven't read of any failures. It's too bad that Ruger saw fit to add a lock to this model, when they don't to their other handguns (at least I can't think of another one with an ILS.) When you buy a Ruger, you usually get a padlock large enough to anchor your boat!
All in all, a great CCW revolver, IMO.

+ 1 on the above posts. I had a choice between the LCR and a super tuned 642....I chose the LCR as it was a good fit to my hand and the trigger pull was much better than the 642.
Nearly all my other revolvers in the safe are Smiths...couple of Colts.

Great holster isn't it! I can put any J frame in it. Had it made for a 642/442 but my M 60 357 with hammer fits also, no snag.
I just fired the one my wife bought me last month. really great DA, I will definitely carry it when a .38 snub is called for. One of the reasons I like it a off duty/CCW is that if I use it for a real social situation I know it will reside in an evidence locker somewhere for a while, and that is a fate I will not wish on my S&W.

My 337 weight 13oz loaded and my SP101 only weighs 5oz more than the .357 version of the LCR. I'm pretty hard pressed to justify a purchase of ANY small frame 38/357 revolver.
What SP101 do you have??The Sp101 weighs in at 25, 26 or 27 oz. The LCR 357 weighs 17. So the lightest is a 8 oz difference. 1/2 pound which in a pocket gun is a lot.

I have had the LCR and the new S&W Bodyguard in my hands for plenty of shooting. The LCR is a fine revolver. Ruger now offers a smaller grip since the original Hogue Tamer and the Crimson Trace laser grip were both too big for pocket carry. XS offers a tritium big dot front sight that swaps out on the Ruger easily.
The LCR's trigger is terrific and the gun works great.
However, the new Bodyguard from S&W is also a fine gun. The grip fits small and large hands alike and conceal in a pocket. The trigger on the new S&W is fantastic and its front sight is replaceable as well. If you want to stay brand specific, the S&W Bodyguard is a fine polymer revolver as well.
