I remember when I was a kid growing up on Lake Champlain when I was about 5-6 years old going out with friends of my father and getting a bucket of frogs with a spear. Frogs legs seem to be less common on a plate these days, anyone still get them and how? Here in NY you can hunt them during a day but at night you can get a light and a spear and go get them. Anyone still like to see the sight of frogs legs jumping around the pan anymore?

Used to "frog-hunt" in Texas as a kid. Sometimes we had to be careful at night and in tall weeds that the "frog" was not a "water moccasin".

One of my favorite dishes - fried frog legs and scrambled eggs cooked in a skillet!

When I was younger (12-14, I am 23 now), I used to go hunt frogs with my buddy, who's mother would cook them. I never tried them myself, but those do look pretty good in the picture fat tom posted. I never used a spear, in fact, just thinking about it now I do not remember how we caught them, but it was most likely with a hook or a snag.

I like hunting/catching them as much as eating them, prefer them marinated ,then grilled.

As long as they keep tastin' like the best chicken this ole guy's ett, I'll still be eatin them!

Mmmm mmmm good!

FROGS LEGS

haven't caught or cooked any in a long time but will order them from a menu. I enjoy using the old line of telling the waitress to hop back in the kitchen and get me an order. or get the gator and say make it snappy.

I do! Love em! Used to get bunches of them as a kid, but unfortunately all the places we use to gig them at as a kids have been bull dozed & developed...sad. But when ever I'm trvaeling, I always keep an eye out for them in the restaurant.

As a teenager a friend and I hunted them in the marshes of St.Clair county Michigan. We could get a bunch every night. We would sell them to a local bar for 50 cents a lb. We used a gig and a flashlight. And we ate a bunch of legs too.
