Anyone try those LuLu mag speedloaders?

I would have thrown my 9c into the Sacramento river if not for the Uplula! I could not load those magazines and neither could a friend of mine. My friend is a really big guy and strong enough to crush a "progressive's" skull with one hand, but after man-handling the first 2 rounds into one of my mags he just handed it back to me and told me I was on my own.

I've since cut 1/2 coil off the mag springs and altered the followers to allow me to squeeze that 10th round in (CA gun). I can load the mags by hand now but it's so much easier with the Uplula.

I wouldn't be without one. Wife and I both have a FS9 and the Lula is GREAT, at least for the first 9 rounds. The tenth round (CA gun) is all but impossible with the Lula so that one gets loaded using pure force resulting in a fair amount of frustration and a sore thumb.

I can understand cutting the spring to ease this situation but what has to be done to the follower? I'm not a gunsmith, nor have I played one on tv.

There are a couple of Youtube videos that show how to do this. You basically just shorten the follower's "legs" a bit. I just used a sheet of 80 grit emery cloth on a flat surface. Also, I only cut 1/2 coil off of the mag spring. The videos show you everything you need to know. I haven't had a chance to function test my mag modifications yet so I can't really say if it was wise to alter my mags. I bought a couple of new followers and springs to have on hand just in case I screwed things up.

I have bad arthritis and find it next to impossible to load my first semi-auto handgun, a M&P 9mm compact. I see they have a universal one on Amazon for $25- $37?

Yea, it just takes a few minutes to do. There are 2 videos on this modification. The one where the guy cuts 1/2 coil off of the spring was the most helpful to me.
I just function tested my modified mags an hour ago and they work perfectly. I'm really glad I did this. Now I have a 10+1 pistol. Of course 12+1 would be better, but I live in the People's Republic of California and we are governed by communists and idiots.

If you have a Shield... I noticed it fits a little funny but nothing too big. I posted a video to youtube about what I was experiencing.

My Wife and I went to a range and rented a Shield to try it out before we bought one, and had to manually load the Mags... Needless to say our thumbs were a bit sore after the trip...

When we finally purchased my own Shield, the UpLula was the very first accessory that was bought for the range bag! I did notice the the standard configuration is setup for the normal double stack mags out there. With the Shield's single stack Mags, It works ok, but the mag was a little wobbly in it. Definately better than hand loading the mag!, but I wanted more, so after looking all over they website: (maglula, Ltd. > Home) I found the 1911AI™ Aligning Insert for UpLULA™ and 22UpLULA™ loaders. (1911AI? Aligner Insert for UpLULA and 22UpLULA). Another option for the Shield might be the BabyUpLULA™ (maglula, Ltd. > Pistol Mag Loaders > BabyUpLULA? - .22LR to .380ACP narrow body mags) It's similar to the normal double stack loader, but is setup for the single stack mags, I do NOT know if the Shield's mags will fit in ot or not, so please try one if possible before buying...

Ordered one of these and got it in. The Shield's single stack mags were too wide for it, but with a little work with a dremel tool, ALL is better!!! This nice little addition clips on the the bottom of the loader and will hold the mag from wobbling. and you can easily unclip it for all of your double stack mags for other weapons...

I would say that this is a must have!

Yep, picked one up at Cabelas today, came home and loaded up my shield and SD40 mags. As everyone says it's a must have item.

As everyone else seems to have noted... WELL WORTH THE PRICE!!! I have the same gun, an M&P 9c. The second I tried to load it at the gun range for the first time I knew there was no way I could do that for any length of enjoyable time. I promptly ran up and bought one from the gun shop... amazingly easy to use and worth every penny. I will admit that over time the mags have become easier to load, but I still use that Uplula every time and especially if it's going to be range time. Saves your hands considerable amounts of fatigue.

The M&P-FS 9mm mags are the most difficult to load of any that I own: SigP229, FNP-40, Ruger LC9, M&P-FS 45, CZ 75 P-01. The UpLula is a must absolute finger saver for the M&P 9. Get one. I have a few in my range bags, because I cannot be without it.
