APARRANTLY THE DEATH RATE IS DOUBLE WHAT THEY PREDICTED IN THE US!

I understand that this is not the conclusion of a "scientific study" and is totally anecdotal, but my daughter is an ER nurse at a Level 1 in a large city and she tells me that the majority of people who come into the ER on her shift for other reasons (gunshot, stabbing, car accident, heart attack, stroke, etc.) test as currently having or having had the Hunan virus and are or were asymptomatic.

That should tell you something about the actual death rate.

Perhaps someone can explain how a bunch of armed yahoos invading a civic government office shouldering AR's, a few carrying nooses and Nazi signs, all screaming give us back our freedom, either changes the trajectory of the Covid virus, or doesn't taint responsibile gun owners with the same stupidity.

It is the same sense as flying airplanes in formations supports people, traveling the world while someone else pays for it supports a cause and many other actions that people believe in.
Did throwing tea in a harbor really stop taxation or just raise public awareness. There are many cases in recent history where claiming absurdities caused many to believe them. Just another reason that people are sheep and common sense never was common.

This CDC website says we are only up to 37,308 Covid deaths as of yesterday:

Provisional Death Counts for Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19):

It appears you have to add pneumonia deaths to the Covid deaths to get up to the 60,000+ deaths being widely reported. In other words, they are assuming that all pneumonia deaths are likely Covid-related... I guess?

Now, that’s interesting.
I'm still trying to figure it out. It doesn't look like they are counting all pneumonia deaths as Covid-related deaths, but certainly some must be considered Covid-related deaths in order for them to get up to that 60,000+ number.

It's all dammed statistics until it gets personal. I've had the (elderly) parents of three friends die in the last two weeks with "suspected" covid symptoms. They don't test old folks, especially after they are dead. I'm "only" 67 next week, but I am also immuno-suppressed due to rheumatoid arthritis, through no fault of my own, and associated required drugs that let me live a relatively pain free life for now. I consider getting the virus to be a death sentence. I'll wear my mask on the rare excursion and expect you to do the same, thank you very much for caring.

Expect in one hand, defecate in the other, see which hand fills first? Feel free to take all reasonable and many unreasonable precautions. But keep your precautions off the rest of us as we live our lives, produce what you consume, and care for you in your time of need.

And if you do contract the Kung Flu, say "Hi" to my wife. She's the cute nurse in the bunny suit keeping your carcass on this side of the grave. All the damned third-world-import doctors are too cowardly to work in the Covid Dungeon. "Treatment by text" after reading the chart my wife prepares. Same with all the cowardly swarthy & swishy nurses and techs and aides.

FTR, not that old yet but given my history highly likely I will die of some respiratory ailment when I am elderly. Runs in the family, we get the flu or a cold from 85 to 95 years old and that progresses to pneumonia and then we expire. Father & mother in that neighborhood and we are cognizant that every visit could be the last. Such is life. And death.

Interesting chart. Deaths from 2/1/20 thru 4/25/20. 37,307 covid deaths and 719,438 other deaths. 719,438 other deaths!!!!! And not one word about them. Amazing times we live it.

Amen, brother. My mother died last October. 4 months short of 100. Don't know what killed her. As my son said years ago, "Her age is her condition."

Dad made it to 90.

You know what that guarantees me?

Double-ought nothing.

But, as my doctor said, "It's better to have good genes than bad genes."

Bless your wife for doing what she can. It seems you may have married above your grade, and for that you can be thankful. I am so sorry your heart is cold.

Considering all the compelling evidence that Dr's are being told, compelled, ordered, threatened or coerced to list ANY respiratory illness as COVID, I'm having a hard time believing the numbers. Especially from any news rag from the east coast!

That's like saying a gunshot wound is lead poisoning....well, no it's not exactly. A piece of lead caused the death, but it wasn't toxicity in the blood that caused death; it was loss of said blood, laceration of tissues and crushing of bone structure. Not exactly symptoms of lead poisoning.

I don't get the freak out, we've had worse than this but this one is a massive freak out. This type of response to illnesses is untenable. Seems a bit too convenient in an election year.....

Can you verify the integrity of and name a few of the sources of the compelling evidence that you are talking about in your first sentence? I have just never read or heard of any forcing of Doctors concerning cause of death.

The main cause of death with Covid is pneumonia as that's where the virus lodges and replicates. The body reacts by rushing antibody fluids to the infection site, lungs fill up with liquid which is the definition of pneumonia.
So if someone died of pneumonia that tested positive for Covid, that is the cause of death.

Obesity proving to be deadly for those with covid due to the pressure their weight puts on the lungs, dying in ICU at 2x the rate of non-obese. Smokers with a similar rate as well for the obvious reason of compromised lung capacity to start with.

Put aside the politics, and if you fall into a high risk category, protect yourself. Your life will likely depend on it.
