In a trade I received a brand new MP full size with the CAEK kit and ram installed, plus all the factory parts bagged. The trigger is nice to the point of almost too light. Question, no issue using/swapping in the factory striker spring in place of the competition spring?

I did swap it, and have noticed that the trigger pull now feels just about were I'd like it doing a few dry fires. As the third bear says it's just about right.

Thanks,
Tom

tom,
The Apex kit was a HUGE improvement on my M&P 45. I then installed some large orange dot tritium sights with U-notch rear (like the Heine), and it makes a big difference in the overall shoot-ability of the gun. It comes to point quickly and trigger releases smoothly. Makes a big difference.
ON THE OTHER HAND..... I had an Apex kit (designed for the Shield) installed in my new Shield, and it made very little difference. Nice gun, very accurate, but it is too big for my vest pocket. I hate wearing a holster when I am out for a casual evening. My little Sig 238 ( I know this is blasphemous) fits nicely in my vest pocket, works like a mini 1911 and is un-noticeable. I will look for the new holsters for the Shield.

Terry I appreciate your response and experience. But I am really after any issues with using the stock factory striker spring in lieu of the Apex Comp spring.

I have the Apex Comp kit in my FS 9mm. Shouldn't be any issues swapping the striker spring to tighten up the trigger.

Thanks jajo, with more searching on the net I found the answer.

"If you think 2.5-3.0lbs is too light, I would recommend trying the HArd Sear and USB alone. They will normally yield a 4.25lb trigger pull. If you mix and match factory springs with our Competition Springs you'll get something in between.

Scott @ Apex"

My trigger is right in that range...about 2lbs 8oz. I like it for comp/range use.
