APEX Kits, what I have found...

I used 600 grit sand paper to just smooth the trigger bar out. Removed the striker block used a small dremel grinding stone by hand and removed the little ridge then took my wifes foam finger nail buffer($2 at walmart) and shined up the striker block all over and the spring no more grit.

I checked my trigger pull on my Shield and it was at 11.5 Lbs (Ma gun).

After I installed everything but the trigger spring I rechecked it, I was down to 7.5 Lb's...

I took it apart again and added the APEX trigger spring ....I am down to 6.5 Lbs now...

So the APEX will give a Mass gun a 6.5 Lb trigger ...

ok so it looks like (for me) I want to have a 5+ to 6+ trigger when im done so I need to try and find a (Ma) trigger for my regular M&P9 and keep the stock trigger spring so I end up in the 5-6 lb range.

can it be that simple or am I missing something?

NO! Stay away from the MA trigger unless you are a masochist.

You can either try the full APEX DCAEK, which should get you to around 5 - 5.5lbs, or when you've done your own trigger polishing, possibly just add the sear plunger spring or the trigger spring used in the DCAEK package, which can be obtained by themselves.

im just trying to keep the stock trigger weight which is 6 1/2 lbs because I am happy with it and don't want to reduce it to 5-5 1/2 if it can be avoided. my goals for this gun is to get rid of the grit and that two piece trigger which i hate. (also see quite a few posts about the hinge pin working loose even after its been warranty replaced)

what is the big deal about the (MA) trigger bar assembly? as far as I can tell its the trigger that's different and the bars don't change with any of the models. as far as I know (which isn't much) only the springs and trigger pivot point make the difference. to further clarify im only going to use the trigger bar from the (MA) trigger assembly, not the (MA) trigger itself.

I am not all that familiar with all what has the most dramatic effect that makes the trigger weight change so is my thinking wrong on this?

That is were I want to get to also...

As you can see in the posts above I need to get the Free States Trigger Spring...

I'm going to get one and try it, it should drop me from the 6.5 Lbs that I have now down to 5.5 Lbs (or 5 Lbs)...

I will update as soon as I do it...

can anyone tell me what the stock trigger pull on the (Ma) regular M&P9 is?

The stock trigger on Ma M&P's are 10 Lbs...

Good luck getting one at 10 Lbs though, most are more than that...

If you have a free state gun, don't get a Ma Trigger for your gun, stay with the free state 6.5 Lb and do the APEX DCAEK Kit...
