What and if you do use a appendix carry holster do you use to carry your J-Frame? Please specify if yours is a exposed or concealed hammer and why you chose that particular holster.

Model 60-7, old Bianchi suede inside pants. Model 6?

Cheap, soft, easily found.

Used the same for three inch barrels. (Different examples, same model.)

Obviously, a sweater or shirt covers the gun.

You should be aware that Models 36 and 60 have exposed hammers. I think my Ruger SP with three inch bbl. is the concealment limit for this carry and my slim body.

I usually carry a 640 Pro at 4 o'clock in a Lobo Enhanced Pancake.

At those unusual times when I carry my Baby Chiefs Special, I carry it at 2-3 o'clock in a custom rig with no cant. Its hammer is bobbed.

I had a cross draw holster made for my round butt 547 (k-frame), but it's not comfortable so when I carry it I put it on the belt at about 2 o'clock (appendix?). The leather has about a 15° backward cant, and it's really easy to access. I like it so much I'm considering having the maker create a j-frame rig that I can wear the same way.

Normally a 640-1 but these work with all my J-Frames, hammered or not. The hammer shield helps with either.

Edited to add: because I forget I have it on. Been using them for 4 or 5 years and have them for my 2 & 3" J's and Ks. Works at 3:30 also.

LOBO Offset IWB horse hide.

I carry AIWB with a 360 exposed hammer in a Harry's holsters Icon. It's kydex and minimal the clips Harry uses are the best, can be worn with sweats or basketball shorts.

Edit: I chose the Icon because of the size, it's small, adjustable cant. The Discreet carry concepts clip is great.

Forum member snubbyfan makes a real nice one . . .

+1 for Snubbyfan

I have one for a K-frame snub and another on the way for a J-frame snub. He also has a unique way of keeping the buyer apprised of his progress during the production process.

Soft Armor PH-3, a sticky-type holster. No clip, put it exactly where you want it at the exact depth you want. Stays put well, also works as a pocket holster. Inexpensive.

I use it mostly with a 637, standard hammer. No problem with poking me.

I appendix carry using a Don Hume M715-M holster. Price right at under $50. IIRC, Gunner's Alley had them for around $35.

A solid choice of IWB carry. I'm guessing a certain FBI wishes he'd holstered his weapon in one of these before he went dancing.

I carry around the appendix area in a Crooked River Leather clip on holster. I carry a 3” 36 with hammer, a 2” bobbed hammer 37, or the hammer less 442. The holster protects the gun and hammer from touching my body. Crooked River Leather is located inside the Parma Armory, Parma, Ohio. I buy all my holsters there because I like the holsters and my friend Dan makes the holsters and owns the Leather Shop.

DonHume.com has a killer 35% discount and free shipping this weekend. Good holsters, with a bit higher sitting on the belt to allow a solid grip. I bought a IWB K Frame SOOT from them earlier today.

Very similar to the Apollo Kydex, this is a roll-your-own holster shell for J Frames I have been using. I added the gel pad last night to tuck the grip into my waistline a bit more. First time adding a foam or gel pad for a wheel gun holster, but have done that on auto pistol holsters for awhile.

Not a J frame, but I carry my trusty Colt Agent in a Galco Stow-n-Go. I don’t wear a belt, but the clip on this (and many others I use for different guns) holds tight.

Garrett holsters silent thunder aiwb keydex lined with leather, with internal hammer j frame, used this combo for last 2 years or so, very comfy

I’ll second nyeti’s endorsement of the Dark Star Gear Apollo. With a pull the dot loop it works with a belt. With a DCC clip it works in surf shorts and the like.
