Apricot jam on meat ?

Some kind of chutney or hot pepper jelly would have been better. The apricot might have been ok if you had just served it on the side.
 
I sort of fell into the "job" of warming up a spiral sliced ham for Thanksgiving every year. To save space in the oven I wrap it with foil
and put it on the charcoal grill. A fav now is to coat it with pepper jelly
before the wrap. A spicy sweetness to the ham. Also gives me time away from the crowd and a chance to enjoy a little bourbon outside while
warming the ham.
 
Growing up one of my favorite meals was roast beef and homemade devils food cake (hard fudge like icing!), eaten at the same time! Sweet and savory!
Favorite dessert was the same devils food cake topped with homemade vanilla ice cream!
Age limits me on this combination now!😢
