Nice misleading title for the thread. SCOTUS didn't approve anything, they decided not to hear the case.

Here's a video that talks about this issue. I know it starts out as the Mexico lawsuit but turns to "assault" weapon bans. The Executive Summary - Mark Smith's opinion is that both things lay foundation for a certain future SCOTUS ruling eviscerating these types of bans. Make of it what you will.

Good. IMO, striking down AR/AW bans would limit the ability of government at all levels to restrict/regulate any sort of product sale- for example, imagine a government unable to ban hazardous substances.
