I have a couple mags for my AR, but they are only 10 round. I was thinking of buying some 20 round and maybe 30 round mags. I priced Bushmaster and Colt magazines, but wow, they are pretty high.
I found some Teflon Magazines made/sold by C Products. The 20 rounds are 7.50 and the 30 round are 9.50.
Anyone here know about the C Products magazines?
How about the Teflon mags?
I have only owned steel in all my other mags. I do not shoot the AR much, but I am wondering about these.
Any information would be appreciated.

I have a bunch of Cproducts mags, the GI type alum. ones, some with green followers, some with Magpul red or gray. I've never had a problem and consider them a good value. GI type mags, particularly genuine contract mags, are actually pretty durable. NHMTG mags are basically the same as the Colts, esp regarding the 20s. They can be had for less, perhaps 15 dollars or less a pop. Centerfire Systems even has the Thermold 20s for 5 dollars per. The Thermold 30s used to work well enough, so I'd think the 20s would be okay. Some people pay a premium for Colt on their mags, and certain government contracts get mags stamped with the horse.

It may have changed, but for a while Bushmaster mags *WERE* C products mags apparently. I ordered a bunch of C Products mags once and some were stamped with their own information, some with Bushmasters.... Thus I wouldn't pay a Premium for anything with the Bushy logo.

Brownells had a good rep for a long time for GI type mags. More new types are coming out all the time that seem to work - the Lancer L5s, CMMGs Immortals, the new mags from Tango down, P-Mags, the 42rd CMMG mags.... Lots of stuff out there these days. Short of combat though, and many times even then, Cproducts and similar price level GI type mags ought work fine.

I do have a preference for straght body 20s over curved, but the single curved alum. C Products 20 I had seemed fine.

C Products also warranties their stuff, so if you get a bad mag, send it back.

Thanks for the replies, I really appreciate them.
Since I am kind of new to AR's, I figured that someone on this forum could fill me in.
I know many people who have ended up with junk magazines, and I did not want that to happen.
Great information in the replies.
This is a great forum.:D

I have a pretty extensive collection of 40 or so AR mags. If the brand or style is not 100% reliable I get rid of them. The mags I still run with that have proven themselves are the P-Mags, C Products, Brownells and Tapco. But for some reason I find my mag carrier and my AR loaded up with the P-Mags and the Tapco mags. They feed well, are made well and the price is right. Don't be afraid to give polymer mags a try. But the C Products and Brownells steel mags have worked just fine for me as well.

Cproducts are very good, I really like the Brownells 20 rndrs, more partial to 20 rnd than 30, easier from the bench. Stay away from anything marked USA brand, the feed lips aren't hardened and they will bend after just a few uses.
Thoroughly test all mags and seperate the 100% reliable ones from the 'iffy' ones, use those for the range. Maintain them and never loan them out and they will last a long/long time.

I want some AR-15 clips- lots of clips.

I've only seen an AR-15 clip once...in a lady's hair at a shoot. :p

A clip with a mini-AR on it. :D

Of course, their cousins the stripper clips are a bit to hot to handle, but they are allowed in California with those fixed mag AR's.
Go figure. ;)

Gun humor before lunch.

PMags are the way to go. My son wanted me to send him some when he got to Afghanistan because that's the only kind the TACPs, CCTs, etc trust over there. Once I read up on them and saw some of the torture test videos I sent him what he needed and replaced all of my metal mags with them.

I got them from Dallas Shooting Supply, $129.99 for a 10 pack of 30rd. They also give a discount to LE if you happen to be.
