I'm talking about pinstripe shirts for professional wear with suits, not "business casual" stuff.

I have a bunch from 8 or 10 years ago when they were popular. Now the larger outlets, e.g. Jos. Bank, Dillard's, you search their websites and see nothing.

When did that happen?

The more sartorial fellows are not doing striped shirts, but I occasionally work a tattersall in regardless.

I hit my local Salvation Army last week for a striped dress shirt. Selection was not great but I did find a blue striped short sleeved dress shirt.

We had a murder mystery New Years Party, so I went as a character from the Beastie Boys’ 1994 video titled Sabotage. Sabotage was a parody of 1970’s police shows, very Starsky & Hutch.

So, striped dress shirts are in style for a 1970’s parody.

Mine are getting beat, and I can't find any replacements. I suppose they'll come back, soon enough.

Right now it's all boring checks and plaids.

"First world problem," I know.

I haven’t seen any one in a business environment wearing a striped dress shirt in a long time. Maybe an old retired guy at a funeral or wedding that drags one out of the back of the closet.

From looking in mens stores( hard to find) , there is very little on the shelves or hanging on the racks. Having worked in an upscale mens clothing store in high school,(60’s) todays stores are lacking. I know, online has taken most of the business and have No Idea where these fashion trends come from other than “ Fromunda a Ducks rear end”.

I have some that are crisp with starch and I do wear them. I haven't bought any recently so I'm still wearing the old ones.

I wear monochrome dress shirts with woven stripe patterns more than a pinstripe dress shirt with a defined stripe.
It has a nostalgic look at the moment. I kind of already have that look, so I don't wish to enhance it any further. Hey, look at the old guy.;)

Still I have some narrow stripe, pinstripe dress shirts in the back of the suit closet waiting to be re-launched though.

When did blue jean jackets go outta style? I don't have a clue about striped shirts with coat & tie, so can't help there. My dress pants are my cleanest-looking blue jeans. I have a wedding to go to next month and I'm already having attire anxiety!

My idea of dressing up anymore is clean shorts and the wife ironing my best T-shirt.

I'm certainly not a fashionista, but I often wear pinstriped oxford shirts. They are comfortable. The cotton is thick so I don't feel the need to wear an undershirt. I like button down collars. The sleeves roll up easy and stay in place. And the pinstripes are flattering. Perhaps I'm a trend setter!

I have 1 white dress shirt and 1 blue. I used all the others up cleaning rags in the past 17 years since I retired. I have only worn a suit and tie twice in that 17 years, both to funerals. After wearing a tie and suit/sport jacket for 40 years I gave them all away, only 1 suit and a blue blazer.
