I have been patiently waiting to buy the 15-22 but not sure if all or any of the fixes have been put into place on the factory fresh 15-22s. Anyone know or know how to tell? Thanks!

new mp15-22

I bought my mp15-22 last week & finally got a chance to shoot it today. I'm in upstate ny & it was 19 degrees. I shot around 300 rounds (CCI, Federal & Winchester). One FTF. Absolutely flawless otherwise and was surprised that it shot as well as it did. As I told my wife, hands down, it's the most fun gun I've ever shot. If I wasn't so cold, I would have shot twice as long. I can't speak for everyone, but I definitely recommend it.

I bought a compliant one a couple weeks ago brought it home cleaned it installed a red dot and ran 400 rounds through it without one failure to do anything but put a smile on my face. Previous post is correct..... these things are fun.

Just go get one. Follow the instructions on which ammo to use, how to load the magazine properly, keep your hand off the magazine when firing, clean it properly before use and chances are you will not have a problem. And if you do happen to have a problem, S&W will make it good.

I have a low serial # 15-22 (at least compared to most others on this forum) and I've suffered absolutely no reliability issues at all. 3000+ rounds and counting. So not all of us are having issues. Sure, I could have a OOB tomarrow, but if I've made it this far, I'm fairly sure it'll just keep on ticking. If it does fail, I'll let S&W make it right.

Bought a new M&P15-22 around Thanksgiving. 400 rounds thru it the first weekend with only a handful of Failures to Feed.

Put 24 rounds thru it the next weekend and it shed the extractor.

Received back after S&W repair and "upgrade to latest spec" and put 300 rounds thru it a couple of weeks ago with only a few Failures to Feed.

Next time out is the scary event!

Mine arrived at my FFL on Friday. Unable to go out this weekend to shoot, but will update once I get out this weekend.
