I bought mine 3 months ago today .. launch day 4/13/12 from Cabelas. Before I even made it home, I stopped at my range and put a box through it, while leaving the parking lot I called my friend from ATEi to ask him if he would take a look to see what he thought and if he could make the trigger better. To me it was a standard M&P trigger, but slightly better. He had me come in that day and he replaced the sear and cleaned up the action, discovered the M&P Trijicon HD's from his M&P FS fit the Shield. I knew that I would want stippling done to the grip as it really wasn't aggressive enough. So I did that myself a month later. Doug from ATEi called me over a week ago asking if I was still interested in racking serrations, that he was finally set up to do Shields. Oh heck yeah and dropped my gun off with him later that night.
The final step was the melonite finish and I was able to pick it up last night . ..

I had the same done two years ago with my M&P9c and like this gun it is modified to better perform for me. Both of my M&P's are lifetime keepers. They are an investment to protect my life.
