The complete list of all Ar. CCW holders was published in the Arkansas Times rag a couple of days ago by the editor Max Brantley. I am on it and I didnt to much appreciate it but its supposed to be only accessable to law enforcement. Its not much of a paper up here in N.W. Ar. so maybe not many were aware of it. This is irresponsible in my opinion. You can go to their website and find the blog and read a few opinions. We were ALL painted as nut cases by Mr Brantley.

Put a trail cam outside his home then put the information online regarding his families' schedule as well has his address. If SOBs like him want to compromise the security of CCW holders then fight fire with fire and see how they like it when theirs is violated!

The same thing happened in Virginia. The reporter said that it was his First Amendment right to publish the list. Several victims of violent crimes, including stalking victims, were extremely upset and said that they would have to move AGAIN, because their address was now known to their attacker. Although I am not condoning such action, and do not agree with the person who did this, an individual took it upon himself to distribute information about the reporter's personal life throughout the reporter's neighborhood. Guess what, the reporter got mad that someone would distribute HIS personal information.

Why do you not agree?

Why do you think it is not fair or right to put the shoe on the other foot?

Thunking like that is why we gun owners are always on the defensive. Let's go on the offensive for a change, shall we?

Living in Fl now with a CCW so I keep up on their law. Last year the Governor declared CCW holder info as NOT public information and all such info is not released. Seems bulgaries were targeting CCW holders gun collection

IIRC, there were a few areas in NM that had the list published. My first reaction was anger, but the more I thought about it the more prouder I felt....

The Cleveland Plain Dealer did the same thing a few years ago. The editor seemed genuinely surprised when Ohioans for Concealed Carry posted a great deal of personal information about him and his family on their website.

So which was it?

Did you leave AK because they didn't HAVE Italian food, or because the Italian food in AK is THAT bad?

It's exactly the same thing...

Hey, I've always heard that Moose spaghetti was really good stuff. Never had it, but that's what I've heard from several sources not related to either myself or each other (or in one case probably closer to Bigfoot than human).

Of course Sip is in Hollywierd now so he probably thinks that Giada Delaurentis cooks good Eyetalian food.

Wyatt Earp Why do you not agree?

Good call Wyatt Earp!!!! In Southern Oregon, a teacher was trying to get permission to carry her pistol on school grounds with her Concealed Permit. She felt very threatened by an ex-spouse, against whom she had a restraining order. The judge ruled against her, but it's being appealed. A few months later, the papers wanted to publish names and addresses of all CCW holders. Fortunately most Sheriff's departments wanted to "hold the horses", so they sent out survey forms to all CCW holders so we could express our thoughts on the issue. I believe our sheriff's will come down on the side of CCW holders, but if not, we WILL go on the offense.

There has been a bill introduced in the Arkansas house of Representives to make an action such as this illegal, only authorised agencys were supposed to get this information, we will see how many of the reps. and senators stand up for us.

I would discourage telephone calls and visits to his neighborhood.

His wife is a local judge and with that position comes a raised level of security.

I would suggest that all angry permit holders instead write to some of the small to medium sized businesses that advertise in his tabloid-style newsmagazine and politely inform them as to why you and your family can no longer patronize their restaurant or retail establishment.

An unintended consequence of his publishing the names and addresses was that many women with restraining orders against husbands/lovers/baby daddies are now no longer in hiding.

Max is a pompous ass.

Let's hit him in his pocketbook.

JRM,

Thank you for the information.

The Arkansas Democrat Gazaette owns the Arkansas Times, so I called them and cancelled my subscrption. They said their newsroom in Little Rock obtained the list from the Arkansas State Police database.

FYI,

The Arkansas State Police tell me they have received 100 permit applications per day since 02JAN09.

Best wishes,
Rushbeau

The ARKANSAS TIMES is in NO way affilated with or owned by the Arkansas Democrat Gazette.

The ARKANSAS TIMES is owned, staffed, and published by a handful of bitter and spiteful left wingers who lost their jobs when the Gazette was swallowed by the Democrat in the Gannett Newspaper War.

If you want a blue earful, call 501-375-2985 and ask if the TIMES is owned by the DEM-GAZ.

Be sure to ask for Max Brantley.
