ARs going fast

It's not just AR's. I was talking to one of the salesmen at the handgun counter of our local Buds retail store earlier this week. He said that in one day last weekend he sold 50 guns!

Well I'm sorry but I don't see any skyrocketing sales in my area. Visited 2 large retailers in my area yesterday and they had no lines at the cash registers and racks (plural) of modern sporting rifles available.

No need to be panic-buying an AR15 right now.

History most definitely repeats itself
Man, does it ever. Haven't seen it so much personally because MA dealers aren't allowed to sell ARs since the 7/20/2016 MA AG decree, but reports from neighboring states are that business is brisk. The gun-grabbers never seem to learn.

We have a show near Boston today after a terrible bout of nasty weather, trees down, power outages, cancellations and flooding. It will be interesting to see what attendance is like.

Northwestern MT doesn't seem to be affected. I spent part of last Wednesday visiting a few LGS locations in the Kalispell area to help alleviate a case of cabin fever. In the process, I picked up a few items, including a couple of spare mags, ammo, and a couple of small accessories. All of the stores had a good supply of AR models, ammo, and acccessories. None of them reported an increase in AR sales.

Another human failing is that of mass hysteria. Get ready for some awesome revolver deals.

I wonder if we're missing the gun sales because of there peak hours. Online when we look up a LGS it lists peak hours of business. The weekends must have the sales soaring. The ar is banned here and everything else is registered anyway.

Well, guys, I have to admit to being concerned this time around. Given Trumps idiotic remarks...who knows?

I was going to downsize my AR collection, but I'm going to hold for now. And I just picked up another 30 AR mags and four more 33 round glock mags.

I've put them away in a climate-controlled room in a storage container, "just in case."

I have all the spare parts I need and just bought two more complete lower part kits from BCM.

I'd rather have, than not need, than need and not have.

YMMV.

When I was seven or eight, my father took me downtown to Huske Hardware in Fayetteville, NC and asked to look at a Browning .22. The salesman wanted to know if I wanted to shoot one. I said yes and we traveled to the 3rd floor where they stored baled straw and such. He showed me how to load the rifle and told me to shoot one of the bales. I got done, my father handed him the correct amount of cash and we walked out the door with the rifle, sales receipt and a nice zippered case. I still have the rifle and the case. The rifle still looks and shoots great. I am 65. I don't think this society is making progress.

I was in Palmetto State Armory last week. The salesman looked pretty tired. He said sales had been brisk.

I am of the opinion that ammunition may become more of a challenge to purchase as soon as Trump leaves office. I am stocking up.

I live within 20 miles of two rural king stores that had at least a dozen ar-15s each last weekend and after one week all of them are gone. Here we go again. I am glad I won't ever get caught without what I have again. Get them when you can, not when everyone is wanting them.

The LGS/Range was full of kids today wanting to shoot their new AR's. One couldn't even keep his britches pulled up, another was winning because couldn't hit bulls eye at 25 yards.

Very busy show Saturday morning. Lots of trucks in the parking lot and camo in the aisles. AR's in good supply and at reasonable prices, considering it was a gun show. Saw several vintage AR's priced at low four figures, but that's about what they're worth. Again, nothing too unreasonable. Lots of Marlin lever actions and Taurus handguns, as usual. Saw several 4473's being filled out, so things were selling. Was looking for a set of postwar N frame diamond magnas for my Heavy Duty, but no luck. Bought a tactical pen and a single point sling attachment for one of my AR's. Saw lots of friends and had some great conversations. Typical local gun show . . .

One of the bigger gun shows between St. Louis and Memphis is in Cape Girardeau this weekend. Will be interested to AR supply and demand . . .

The last time this happened I was watching guys pay 1500 for a bushy . If we let the Dem ban this gun next will be your 10/22 ,and then 30-30 . look at the other countries , Hitler, etc.

Hitler didn't seize guns. Gun control laws were already strict in the previous Weimar Republic. If anything, Hitler relaxed restrictions on gun ownership.

Well, to be fair, the Third Reich expanded ownership for pure Germans and members of the party, and seized guns from those considered "undesireable . . . "

A week or so ago, I noticed my LGS had a stack of S&W M&P-15 Sport II's in the middle of the floor. I guess, 25 or so. I'd never particularly wanted an AR, but had thought about one. I looked at one, put it back, then came back the next day and put one on hold. What the heck, I might as well own one and the price was reasonable.

I picked it up the next day. That stack of M&P's was gone, and they were stacking Ruger AR-556's like cord wood. I don't know what they normally go for, but the price of the Ruger, was $100.00 more than the M&P. I also have no idea how many of these things they normally sell. I've never paid much attention to them really.

It started as a slow burn. Mainly in blue and purple states and, of course, Florida. It has morphed into a small panic. My barometer is the black gen2 Pmag. When I left work Wednesday, my main supplier had almost 76,000 of them. When I returned Friday morning, zero. Most of the other Pmags were gone as well. Lancers were also sold out. There are no cheap ARs in distribution. The high end guns are selling out now. These panics always start with guns. Then ammo dries up. Then reloading disappears. I personally am set. The one thing that makes this a little different is that handguns are not flying off the shelves yet here in Middle America. Yet.

It is really sad that the liberal gun control advocates are being provided a nice steady drip of ammo to use for their cause. This is what they need to advance their position. It keeps the issue in the news and the press follows along. This is an emotional issue on both sides. The antis know all they need is to keep picking at any crack they can find and it will widen. What I find distressing is some of the interviews of the kids / perps who are doing this. They seem to be individuals who want to be famous and this is one way to accomplish it. The TX tower shooter was found to have a brain tumor. They couldn't directly tie that to the shooting, but it was located in an area known to cause personality changes. My point being, the cause was potentially nature not nurture. The most recent seem to be nurture. Most people do not want to accept the fact that the world can be an unsafe place and the police can't always protect you. If a person decides to commit a crime it is hard to stop them. To be honest, I am amazed at the incredible job LE does stopping the ones they do. As long as our society is manufacturing individuals that will do anything to be famous like the reality fools, then we are going to deal with this. We won't be able to stop them all. And the beat goes on...........

Well..... I sold my AR carbine several months ago to apply the funds towards a new S&W revolver I wanted. At the time, I couldn't give the thing away, no one was buying. Had I known this would happen I wouldn't hung on to it longer and doubled my money.

These things are like investing on the stock market.
