My first question and new to the Forum so hope this gets posted correctly. Have been reviewing Muzzle Brakes for my new S&W M&P 10. Saw a post on a PWS FSC-30 muzzle brake. Any pros or cons about this one? Does anyone have others they recommend? Also, thoughts on quad handguards?

A couple friends have PWS muzzle brakes on an LR308 and AR15. They compensate well. When you look at muzzle brake's there are some things you need to weigh:

a) the obvious is the brake's contribution to shootibility
b) the adaptability of the brake to other weapon components such as suppressors
c) how much trash the brake throws back and its effect on bystanders.

On handguards, I'm waiting on Midwest or someone else to bring a 15" key mod to market. According to a post by MI on ar15.com, this will occur very soon. Midwest is already taking pre-orders on the shorter 12" key mod. They posted a demo photo of the handguard mounted on an m&p 10 on ar15.com as well.

Just got a note back from Pete, he says he feels that his rifle with the PWS doesn't shoot much different from his other rifles he has with ACC and Surefire setups. I've shot drills next him shooting all his rifles, and can't say that any one of the 3 puts out any more or less muck than the other.

I have the FSC on my PWS 5.56 rifle. A nice piece for sure. That is the softest shooting 5.56 I've owned or shot. I have the PRC on my PWS .308 and that is the cat's pajamas. That rifle is much more accurate than my M&P 10 ever was, atleast with this guy behind the scope (using the same scope and mount). Guess it depends on what your needs are.

Thanks for you reply. Sorry for the delay in thanking you. Am new to the Forum. Will take your advise. Just posted a new question now so if you would like to take a look and have any advise that would be cool.
