At Wally World.

Well in the Peoples Republic of Kalifornia Walmart no longer sells ammo. But they do sell targets and holsters and such and cleaning kits. Maybe with the SCOTUS decision it may loosen up but I won't hold my breathe. I've even begun to carry a defensive cane, although I have LEOSA/HR218. Defensive canes are easy to carry unconcealed and readily available against knife attacks and such.

Back in late 80’s and early 90’s the wally world in Boone N.C. had a reloading section way better than many gun stores. One isle , both sides, powder, primers, projectiles, dies , presses , everything one needed, long gone now.

Yes! I went in there( on vacation) and was very surprised!......Long wished that store was close to home.

My brother was at the WM that Skeet was at yesterday and the day before and liberated 6700 rounds of Federal 7 1/2 and 8 shot.

I live on the west end of Billings and could smell his credit card smoke from my house!!!

Did he really spend around $2,300 on 27 cases of shotgun ammo? I'm guessing he cleaned out the place and left nothing for anyone else.

That's a lot of ammo and I'm wondering why so much at one time? Shotgun ammo was the only ammo available over the past few years unlike handgun and rifle ammo.

He paid $8.40/box of 25......he did NOT get them all however.

I've told the BassPro story many times. 2004, they sale priced 9mm WWB @ $3.88/box 50. I asked "How much can I have?" Went "back" to check; "27 cases." "I'll be back with 2 carts", the 13,500 rds were about $1,100 and near lifted the front wheels off the ground on my S10. I just bought 2 cases of ammo I absolutely don't need because there will come a day when I won't be able to go on "Ammo Shop" and order it delivered to my doorstep just like I haven't been able to have new guns "Big Brown Trucked" to my house since 1995. I assume "cases" is 10 boxes. In a past life I've been known to buy 100 "cases" at a time. It was a good price and shooting 25-30,000 shells a year they were gone in less than a year. Larry

So I was correct, almost $2,300 to buy 268 boxes which is almost 27 cases. OK, to be exact it was $2251.20 for 26.8 cases.

Anyone can do what the want with their own money I just feel doing that is excessive and adding to the shortages.

Is $8.40 a box a good price? I don't know the prices of shotshells these days.

They've had that price for the Auto Match for several months now. It cycles in my Victory with no problems and is as accurate as I can shoot it.

Was in Wally World in Palatka today, had several Savage Axis rifles and lots of ammo, 6.5 Creed. too. Local one has 6.5 Creed. too as well as Lots of shot shells.

Gotta go to Cody tomorrow. Going to go in and take a pic or two with the phone and see what they have available I truly do not need any more ammo...well...maybe

I've been seeing .22 at mine pretty regularly. What I do not see regularly is somebody behind the counter or anybody who has the keys to the ammo section.

Yes, same here. Make a point to find a “ supervisor” and ask them, are you in business? One can not make $$$$ unless you have products to sell and someone to SELL them. Know one lady that works in sporting goods, she tells me people just don’t show up for work????
In Lowes the other day buying some staples for my target staple gun, used self check out. A lady with a cart full of items asked the “ helper” at self check out why there were no cashiers, helper replied kind of snarky, “ we don’t have enough people come to work”, go figure.

Almost all of the WWs I have been in have a house phone there on the counter. Don't be bashful...Pick it up and dial O(usually Customer Service desk) when someone answers tell them you need someone at the Sporting goods counter. If that doesn't work get one of the "older" floor bosses...yellow vests... to get someone there. or most of the time they are next to the service center for oil changes and tires..Poke that bear! I can always get attention if I really want it. I've been known to ask rather loudly...yelling... if there is anyone in Sporting Goods?

Talked to a friend/shooter from back east not very long ago. I bought 10 cases of 28 and 410 Remington.. Not flats real cases...5000 shells. A few years old but just couldn't turn 'em down...100 bucks a case. Daughter is delivering them in a few days. I actually traded a P-W 800 Plus 28 ga loader with a 410 die set that I had priced at a 1000 bucks. It was new and I didn't need it as I load on a Spolar machine. 1/2 the 28s and 1/2 the 410s are already sold for a giveaway price of 12 bucks a box. Funny part is I sold the ammo to the fellow originally in about 2009. 28s and 410s are almost unobtanium ammo for skeet and sporting clays shooters The cost of reloading 28s and 410s make them the most economical to shoot Shell cases however do not last very long.

Walmart doesn’t sell guns in NY. Big surprise I know.

I spit my coffee on that one. That's a funny joke!

My Savage Axis II -- that I bought two weeks ago -- was at a New York Walmart. I also got my Savage Mark II FVT at a New York Walmart during the pandemic.

And it's not all just cheap stuff, either. The Walmart at Jamestown/Lakewood has literally a row of Beretta semi-auto shotguns at $1,500 a pop, and some Savage target rifles at $2,000 (because the managers get to order whatever they want, and those happened to be in stock).

I've been seeing .22 at mine pretty regularly. What I do not see regularly is somebody behind the counter or anybody who has the keys to the ammo section.

Yeah, I always have to go to the auto center at all my local stores. As a rule, the auto managers are salty at the sporting goods manager for being bad at their jobs and never around, but are nice to the customers.

How old? I've not saw a "case" since the Mississippi River was a creek. Larry

I guess I should post that they were in 10 box flats but I always consider a case as 20 boxes. People now call a half case a case I guess. Ihave quite a few real cases of shells Some Federals fron the Grand Trapshoot a case or two of Remington 20 ga RXP 2nds a case of the original REmington 28 ga plastic ammo(terrible stuff. 50 % cracked on firing even when new) and one full case of Win 28ga 2 7/8 inch ammo. Paper of course. Individual boxes of other stuff of course including S&W shotshells
